Ok i was just researching body piercings and stuff. and ummmmm I ran into this...

now, I have seen alot of stuff in my time... not alot of stuff shocks me anymore, but the female circumcision picture, 2nd one in on the bottom left.....

that shocked me, but i knew it still happened... but the rest of it?!?!?! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO YOURSELF!? (disregard the tongue splitting, thats nothing new to me)

i'd like feedback... experiences, and if any of you have ever done any of this or known anyone that did any of this.

female circumcision never struck me as anything that would fall into the genre of voluntary body modification...

However that procedure appears to be the removal of the labia majora, rather than the clitoris. Some people don't like large labia, so I guess I'm not completely shocked here.

Sub-incision, head splitting, etc are done to expose a huge amount of nerve endings to stimulation.

Hence, it makes stuff feel better.

Genital texturing? to make it feel better for others.

Urethral re-routing? any number of reasons, physical, mental or aesthetic.

i've always considered myself pretty cultured, but then when i look at these pictures, i realise that I know nothing of body modification, and it says that BME has many more of each of those pictures so..... i would think that atleast most of them are consentual (a.k.a wtfiswiththe circumcision)

i am totally the same way. jane magazine had a really interesting article on women who do that voluntarily, i think it was last month's (april).

i really love mods in general, and what they represent to me, but i feel as though removal of anything is pretty extreme. i can't really see a point to removal. like decoration i'm all for, and i guess removing things is still customizing your body in a different way, but it just seems like you're not adding anymore and that makes me kinda sad.
and some of this stuff, i wonder how it would aid in sensation as i would think it would damage a lot of nerve endings...

Here is a link with a first hand account of getting turned into a "nullo" and all I can say is that it was in no way voluntary, and reading it made me sick to my stomach, more so than any of those pictures. I don't know if it is real or not, but it just gives a little perspective to that kind of site.

ok jesus h. christ, those are probably the worst things i have ever seen in those pictures, and i am studying to be a forensic investigator. I have witness autopsies and been on sight for many a gruesome car crash but that just disgusts the hell out of me. Anyone doing that to their body does not deserve the body they have.

Hilnbert25, I think that interview is one of the disturbing things I've ever read. To hear someone talk about having their genitals forceably removed and then praising the person that did it. I can hardly believe that this is real.

Just for the record, most people into heavy body modification don't hate themselves. Rather, they do these things to make their body more into the image that they consider as perfect (be it conceptually, aesthetically, funtionally, etc).

Female circumcision is often done voluntarily to either increase sexual pleasure (by removing or splitting the clittoral hood) or in more rare cases, to make oneself chaste (by removing any of a number of pleasurable spots). Also, some of these are done to increase the aesthetic value. Some people don't like the look of large labia, or prefer to expose the clit (via hood removal).

And for those that are opposed to the idea of adult women voluntarily choosing to have their genitals surgically altered, what are your views on the current US trend of circumcising males at an age when they're too young to decide if they'd rather be cut or uncut (and usually at an age too young for anesthetics)? Should one be more permissable than the other?

edit: And as for my personal experiences, no, I do not currently have any surgical mods. I do however know several people with subincisions, split tongues, headsplits, etc. (I'm a long-time member of BME's online community, and it's rather common for members to have these more extreme bodymods)

I am very much against it. I am uncut and its great. I am also completely against plastic surgery and such. I believe just live with what you were given.

noy to say that i am against tattoos or piercings. I am planning on getting two tattoos and i have my labret pierced. Just that other stuff is beyond horrific.

Our untrained eyes cannot comprehend the inner of someone's mind. We need to teach out mind to be able to accept what other people did. Yes, those images was extreme to me and I felt disgust.

I'm training myself to see the different variety of scenes or mutilation that people have inflicted upon themselves so that if any of these scenes were to be present in my sight, I would not be grossed out. I am not planning to be surgeon just to let know. My major is Computer and Electrical engineering, just training myself to not get grossed out that easily so I won't be in shock if it was there.

Yeah. The guy in the interview is seriously messed up. He let that guy basically forcefully against his will make him a eunuch? The guys who did that to him, voluntary or not, which it wasn't truely since he used persuasion tactics to convince him to do it, should be locked away in jail for life, and also made eunuchs themselves. That's sick, twisted, and 100% wrong. I can't believe people even do interviews like that. It's just sick.

Just for the record, I'm fairly sure that the interview is fiction...it appears to be part of a site akin to literotica dealing solely with a castration/penectomy fetish. I browsed some of the other submissions, and the subjects are much worse in some of the other stories (one deals solely with a father doing something similar to his son, 'written' by the 'son').

I don't know what to think about that. I guess I would say that it was very interesting. For some reason, I have a tough time dealing with body modification (mutilation). I guess I'll have to learn to deal with it.

A side note to the interview report. From the report it said that only one person did the surgery to remove his penis. This would require lots of precision and sterilization. It probably required more than one person. And, that person must be knowledgeable in Medical equipment as well. I tell you that removing a penis is quite hard. It might make you walk with your buttocks up all the time if done incorrectly.

There are a sub-culture of underground psuedo-doctors who perform body modifications such as trans/sub-dermal implants, tongue splits, genital bifurication, etc. Within this group, there is a smaller sub-category called "Cutters" who specialize in the castration, nullification, and other modification of the genitals, often in the gay leather/s&m scene, such as in the interview above.

So, it's VERY possible that one of these "specialists" was responsible for the procedure, and that the story is in fact true.
