I say keep him.

The economy he inherited from Clinton was crap. 9/11 kicked the economy while it was down, but now the GDP growth was revised upward to 3.3%. We are out of the recession, and the economy is growing at a respectable rate. I realize the job market is slow, but it is a lagging indicator.

As for Iraq, I was against it from day 1, but he didn't lie about it...ever! He talked about intelligence, which every education person knows is partially made up of educated guesses. True, intelligence said there were weapons, and it is looking like they won't be found. The fact remains that Bush did not lie.

Overally, I give Bush a 7 out of 10. Not great, but moving in the right direction. He has been a step up from Clinton!

So is the national deficit. In fact, it is the highest it has ever been in U.S. history.

There is a fine line between outright lying and intentionally misleading that I'd like to explore here. I think it's clear that Bush's stated reasons for going to war were calculated to gain approval and nothing more. He used the tragedy of 911 and the resultant fear to further his own political agenda, and that of the special interest groups that support his administration.

When will the Republicans lick their wounds and move on? Clinton oversaw one of the most prosperous periods of history in my lifetime. All Bush is overseeing are times of extreme partisanship, widespread poverty, fear and uncertainty over our future and our very safety. And he has done nothing to improve this. Tax breaks to the rich when the poverty level, unemployment rates and national deficit are at an all-time high -- on top of a massive bill to rebuild Iraq and expand military operations -- is just staggeringly irresponsible.

Not if both his druggie daughters blew me. Remove him from office, preferrably from the face of the planet.

I am definitely for four more years. If anything, because there isn't a single candidate out there who shows they would do a better job (particularly on the democratic side).

I'm not an economist, but i do remember prior to the last election the republican administration warning that we were heading for an economic downturn, and the liberals screaming "stop talking down the economy." But they made no effort to refute it.

Its not really Clinton's fault, its just the nature of any economy. Clinton was president during the booming 90's when the computer/internet industry exploded. As the 90's wound down the economy became more grounded and growth began slowing down. Then 9/11 happened and like XXX said it kicked the economy when it was down. Its not rocket surgery, its unreasonable to think that our economy could continue at the rate it did under Clinton, it is also unreasonable to solely blame Bush (even though he hasn't done much to encourage the market, but with massive issues on Nat'l Security I could see it happening).

I agree 100%. I didn't mean to imply that it was Clinton's fault.

There are a lot of things that weren't "Clinton's fault" except for the fact that he spent half his term trying to cover up tracks and lie about his fling with Lewinsky. Hence the economy and the terrorist threat we face today.

Although if you wanted to be an ass and bust Clinton's chops you could blame him for 9/11 and the economy faltering from there. Split hairs if you really like, but fact of the matter Slick Willy did have the chance to extradite OBL in the 90's.

It is not a matter of busting chops. If this was a mayor of some small town, that may be right. But this was the PRESIDENT OF THE USA. Sad to say, but the nation was neglected at least for a year because of his travesty.
