My own person -- his by choice

I like the bumper sticker too -- it states very clearly what I believe; which is there is good to be found in every world religion.
Why I don't care for Bible thumpers -- simple, I do not care to be judged. The only true judge should be God herself. She is the only one who has the right to condem me to hell or welcome me to heaven. In-the-meantime, it is up to me to discover my way, not someone else. I've had way too many Bible-thumpers pass judgement on me over the years, so admittedly I tend to put my "defenses up." IMHO, Lebell is correct, the best way to convert is to live the Gospel. He does just that, and as a result, I'm returning to a Christain church -- something I never thought I'd do.

I have to admit, I love the "Thumpers". When you get a good one that want's to talk, and will listen with an open mind, I find that my own eyes are opened to new ideas and possiblities. I love religion as a study topic. It is fasinating stuff. And the ones that start out with the "You are going to hell unless you start doing things my way", well, I have a lot of pent up agression, and when they assume that I am lost and wrong before even trying to find out what I think, well, I no longer reguard them as anything but a target to get that agression out on. You can talk to me about anything you want, but as soon as you turn it into what I see as a personal atack, it's freakin on. I understand that they are trying to, in their eyes, help me. But that does NOT give them the right to be rude and attack me and my beliefs.

yes, I agree fully. "One should not think, 'My religion alone is the right path and other religions are false.' God can be realized by means of all paths. It is enough to have sincere yearning for God. Infinite are the paths and infinite are the opinions." -Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Quote:

Whenever the jehovah's witnesses or the mormons come knocking on my door, I'm always happy to let them in. This is because of three reasons: 1. The Mormon Sisters are really hot! They wear make-up and dress very nice! 2. I'm glad that people are out there trying to make sure others in the world are spiritually centered. I'm sure after knocking on hundreds of doors they meet one or two people scraping the bottom of the barrel of life who are in need of a helping hand to get them out. 3. Clearly the door-knockers were profoundly impacted by their church, and their lives are richer and filled with purpose as a result. Who can blame them for wanting to spread that richness with others? I am very happy for them--some days I wish I had as clear a purpose in my own life. So it's nice to hear them talk enthusiastically about spiritual matters.
