National Treasure
DISCLAIMER: This thread is about a movie, but does not belong in Tilted-Entertainment because we'll be discussing the conspiratorial aspects of the plot and not the entertainment value.
Has anybody else seen the previews for this movie? Here's the IMDB synopsis: Benjamin Franklin Gates descends from a family of treasure-seekers who've all hunted for the same thing: a war chest hidden by the Founding Fathers after the Revolutionary War. Ben's close to discovering its whereabouts, as is his competition, but the FBI is also hip to the hunt. Since childhood, Benjamin Franklin Gates has known that he is decended from a long line of people whose job is to guard a treasure hidden by the Founding Fathers, who hid clues to its whereabouts in the country's currency and on the back of the Declaration of Independence. Now, he has learned of a plot to steal the Declaration, and has only one option: steal it himself. Even if he pulls off this monumental task, keeping the treasure safe is still going to be incredibly hard, especially since the FBI has also gotten wind of the scheme.I realize this is all pure fantasy (like a US DaVinci Code), but I've always heard about the hidden meanings in the pyramid eye on the back of US money. What are they? What does that eye signify?

I actually saw this movie being filmed.
I was in Philadelphia for a conference and we were eating lunch at the Independence Brewery. During the course of lunch they started setting up some really bright lights outside on the sidewalk and they closed off the street. We asked our waiter what was going on and he said they were fimling some movie. We walked outside and they were filming on the sidewalk right across the street. It was a chase scene where two kids (guy and girl I think were running from two guys chasing them. They run past a doorway and one of them yells "in here" and they duck inside the doorway. So if you see a scene that resembles that in the movie, I was standing right across the street. |

First point:
Looks like an interesting movie, if a bit overly dramatic. The pyramid thing on dollars has a bajillion different supposed meanings. There really three things to remember when it comes to supposed secret society symbols: 1)Most of the time no one really knows the true meaning of a lot of the stuff, because for the most part it doesn't matter, its the secrecy that is the fun part 2)Almost ever symbol from the ancient times has been re-used and recycled by almost every group since then 3)All the groups like to embrace cool stuff (don't you) even if it had nothing to do with them Read Foucalt's Pendulum by Umberto Eco to see what I mean, or for that matter the Illuminatus Trilogy (All hail Eris!) Second Point: Whether or not you think it matters since membership in it was pretty common at the time, almost all the Founding Fathers were Masons. In fact, so many were that by current and era standards (and the RICO act) the founding of the US should be considered a Masonic conspiracy.

The pyramid with the year of our nation's creation on the bottom represents our country itself. The pyramid is the building of the country on top of what had been created by the sigining of the declaration. The floating eye is a symbol of the enlightenment that our country can achieve through continuation of our historical traditions. There is a critical link here, because the eye is the symbol of the Bavarian Illuminati (look at my avatar for reference.)
Adam Wieshaput was disgusted by the corrupt church officials of his day, and created the Order of Perfectibilists, later called The Order of the Illuminated of Bavaria in order to form "An association of good men to rid the world of moral evil." (I might have screwed up a few words in the quote, so don't kill me if it doesn't show up on Google.) He revealed his organization to the world on May 5, 1776. Weishaupt himself has been identified by several historians as the mysterious black-cloaked man who delivered the final text of the Declaration of Indepenedence to George Washington*. Along with most of our founding fathers, Weishaupt was a Mason, and spread his ideas through that organization. In order to combat the tyranny of corrupt church officials who held government offices, he created support for the separation of church and state, which has held strong in our country or hundreds of years. A strong, united, secular world power would fit in perfectly with the Illuminated ideal, and our country has become what they wanted it to become. *- in addition to the US Revolution, The Illuminati were instrumental in the French Revolution. Robespierre, a French Illuminist, recieved documents from Wieshaput detailing plans to incite revolt among the people of France, and was a critical figure in the instigation of the French Revolution. Also, note that wealth4freedom.com is a far-right-wing site, and the dollar bill info reeks of religious bias, particularly the type that feels that Masonary is a Satanic cult. |
