I was walking in front of Port Authority in NYC and I saw this paper glued to the wall. I took it down because it was a bit odd sitting there on the POST NO BILLS sign.

It has two eyes looking to the right, and the words.

Wow. I obviously have a sick streak of something running through me because I actually thought that I should print up a few signs like that and leave them around the building where I work.
I can usually hear the telcom and unix guys talking about polar shifts, government conspiracies and the like, so I wonder if I could set them off with a sign like that. Hmm. Work might be really interesting this week!

don't they come up with television ratings through a system of logging what people see? i hear you can sign on for free tv (cable or whatever) in order to be part of a study of what people watch

Lets say there WAS in fact a touch-screen sensor in your television set. Can it really be used to see into your room, unless you REALLY like your TV and decide to get up close and personal with it?

In general, I seriously doubt that anything useful can be recorded by looking AT the people in front of the TV. Everything they need to know is already in their hands - they know your name, address, and credit history from your cable bill, your TV viewing behavior recorded and transmitted by the set-top boxes, and heck, they probably even know your demographic.

Why go to such unreasonable lengths just to LOOK at you? I, for one, disbelieve this silliness.

I'm comfortable with someone watching me sit on my ass for long hours, get up grab some ice tea and a bag of chips, come back to the tv, spend another couple of hours watching it till i fall asleep. Hell if someone can watch that then i applaud them on their patience.

If any person/company were to actually impliment this type of Big Brother technology, it would have to be the snack food, soft drink, or alcohol suppliers. It would be a great source of consumer information.

I saw a show or a movie once about these people that lived in the TV. (Actually a portal to the other dimension).

That freaked me out for many years. I still don't like looking at a tv that is turned off...

AND that guy that keeps following me in mirrors is really getting on my nerves...
