Um. I'm not a moderator or anything, but a list of links isn't really a discussion, or even the beginnings of a discussion. All I see is a mishmash of 'strange, but true!' stories for a slow news day, hoaxes, conspiracy theories, and hypothetical science-fictiony ideas. If you want to discuss something, discuss it.

I was not aware that every thread had to be a discussion of some sort, why can't this just be a "load of links to creepy/strange wikipedia entries" post? pick one you don't know about, click it, and learn something new!

Apparently you're not familiar with TFP Policy and Guidelines when it comes to starting threads. Here's a little snippit that seems applicable: Quote:
I can't hear your opinions on these matters by clicking on those wiki links. That's what this forum is about - hearing the perspectives of our members and learning more about what everyone else thinks. A blog entry or "Found on the Net" are better places for posting something like you created here. If you feel like editing your OP to elaborate on why these particular stories appealed to you and how you think they might be related to one another, then it could become an interesting discussion-provoking and thereby thought-provoking thread. Another option is to take each of these wiki links that you so graciously put together, and attacking one each day. Start a new thread by posting the link, then write a paragraph that outlines your take on the matter. This encourages people to discuss these issues - you may learn something interesting. If you don't learn something interesting out of it - I probably will! I am a sucker for new perspectives.

AHHHHH.. MRSA.. I had to deal with the ex-mayor of San diego (complete and utter asshole) and he had MRSA and the charge nurse didn't even tell me. I was so ready to fucking sue becaue she's supposed to tell ALL staff working with the patient's fluids.
GAHHH.. I HATED that place sooo much. thank god I'm out of that god forsaken craphole facility. Anyways. I've always wanted to see the Belmez faces. I read that they're disappearing now. :C And the Voynich manuscript is way weird. I want to see it in person and study it closely. Last month I found a website for it.. but I forgot the url. :/ Original Spanish Kitchen... I think I've heard of that before. I think I read it in a book of scary stories way back when I was in elementary school. Apparently, people would look into the windows of the place and see that the tables were still set and there would be food appearing and disappearing from the plates and the food never seemed to get old. It was a cool story. |

Very interesting reading, thanks for posting crack very much appreciated.
Wouldn't be worried about getting yelled at here, either someone on an ego trip, someone has their panties in a bunch, or it's someones time of the month. It's fuckin paranoia how much discussion do they expect a 20 page dissertation on the links provided? If they really want discussion in paranoia I'd say 'I found these links they seemed interesting, read them and find out if you don't like them, tough shit.' I'll take a look tomorrow and see what odd wiki links I can add, most likely without discussion, so the fuhrer's of the forum will just have to deal haha just playing mods.

I could've sworn I was the third or fourth reply in this thread. I must've forgotten to add something to it when it appeared nearly a year ago.
The Kennedy Curse I haven't read this article yet, but I did see the new two-hour documentary shown on The History Channel about the progression of the Kennedy family, both in politics and as celebrities. I couldn't believe how many members of the immediate family died (seemingly) prematurely, and eventually it branched into the greater family tree.

I know that. Should I have quoted it to make it more obvious?
From glancing at the listing and noticing it, I wanted to state the history of the curse's context that I had fully realized just a week prior.

AWESOME thread! I love this kind of stuff. Great reading for a boring Sunday night...seriously where's the usual fox Sunday night lineup? Anyway I didn't see these links posted above and thought they kind of fit the theme. Enjoy. If I missed them I apologize in advance for being a redundant jerk.

I'm surprised that this isn't included, it's a staple of unexplained incidents lists. I'm really not sure what to think of it due to the lack of evidence, but it's all but official that Israel has nukes, and South Africa wouldn't be that much of a surprise.
Vela Incident - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I did a bit on the Dyatlov Pass Incident in this thread http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/tilted-...-incident.html and will look to see if I can find a more complete writeup I did of why it's most likely entirely mundane. |

The Vela incident fascinates me. A double flash that perfectly resembles and nuclear explosion yet nobody admits to it or can anybody find any evidence that one happened.
Thanks for posting the link to the Dyatlov pass thread I'm going to head over and read that when I finish this post. Like any good mystery I'm sure there is a really boring and perfectly rational explanation behind it but being one of the more bizarre unexplained stories I've ever come across I can't figure out why its not discussed more often.

those are pretty aweseme so far - I've only clicked on about a dozen of them randomly as of yet, but I'll continue and have my head filled with fascinating knowlege. Any or all of these work for excellent convesation-starters, IMO. Good post...nevermind the nay-sayers or I guess you're supposed to call them 'haters' now.

It's really a great but frustrating mystery, because there's just enough evidence that there are a bunch of possible and believable explanations, but if there is a definitive answer, the info is all classified.

Great stuff. I find the lake Nyos disaster especially interesting, its just so bizarre and unusual. The fact that lake, one of the most mundane things I can think of can suddenly erupt and kill an entire community is fascinating. Almost poetic in a way.
Heres a couple more people might enjoy Oak Island Minnesota Iceman Shag Harbour UFO incident

The Roanoke Colony has always been a fascination of mine, and apparently Stephen King. I lived for five years about a mile from the Croatan Forest. ECU uncovered some clues that the lost colony traveled about 50 miles to the forest before sucuumbing to natural selection.
If it's poisonous or eats you, it grows in eastern NC. The talk of massacre by native Americans is likely wrong. More like bears, gators, and snakes. Stephen King produced a long ass movie Storm of the Century, which took place in New England, but ended with the word CROATAN scrawled on a boat, just like the lost colony.
