Who's your favourite Male Rock Vocalist?
no biased poll like that other thread :)
Mine is Gord Downie of the Tragically Hip He has an interesting voice, and his lyrics just make you want to listen to them over and over. Not to mention that he's the best song storyteller I've ever heard. I also like Chris Cornell and Maynard Keenan. |
well, i guess it depends on your definition of 'rock' but:
jeff buckley davey havok cedric bixler zavala |
Lead Singer of Incubis Brandon Boyd. he rocks.
Chris Cornell without a doubt
my favorite right now is dallas from underoath...but he has/will be departing from the band
Lately I'd say the singer for Revis has a bad ass voice. And I dont tell anyone this but my favorite is prolly Steve Perry from Journey. Let the gay jokes commence...
I'd have to say Gord Downie too... what an amazing voice.
Serj Tankian is a favorite of mine. A very passionate and strident singer.
Trent Reznor and Mike Patton. That would be a mind-blowing colabo.
David Bowie, Peter Steele from Type-O Negative and Maynard from Tool
Ville Valo from HIM (HER in the US) I just happen to like his voice.
David Draimen
I could list quite a few, but Tom Petty would be on the top of my list.
Hm. I like nearly everyone mentioned, so I'm going to just give a nod to all of them and name Jason Miller from gODHEAD as my choice. He has a clear, striking voice that was obviously trained, and it's easily as excellent live as it is in the studio. (That's becoming less and less common these days.) Check the band out.
Robert Plant could do things with his voice and hit pitches that most peopl could only dream about. Jim Morrison also had a very melodic and trancy voice.
Chino from the Deftones... no question.
Chris Cornell, Mike Patton, Mark Lenagan, Devon Townsend
Layne Staley from Alice in Chains had the best voice in rock, in my opinion. Then would come Maynard James Keenan from Tool and Aaron Lewis from Staind.
Kurt Cobain, Serj Tankian, and Zach de la Rocha. They are just great.
Donald Fagen of Steely Dan. Nice and raspy/weary, while melodic.
