Who's your favourite Male Rock Vocalist?

no biased poll like that other thread

Mine is Gord Downie of the Tragically Hip

He has an interesting voice, and his lyrics just make you want to listen to them over and over. Not to mention that he's the best song storyteller I've ever heard.

I also like Chris Cornell and Maynard Keenan.

Lately I'd say the singer for Revis has a bad ass voice. And I dont tell anyone this but my favorite is prolly Steve Perry from Journey. Let the gay jokes commence...

Hm. I like nearly everyone mentioned, so I'm going to just give a nod to all of them and name Jason Miller from gODHEAD as my choice. He has a clear, striking voice that was obviously trained, and it's easily as excellent live as it is in the studio. (That's becoming less and less common these days.) Check the band out.

Robert Plant could do things with his voice and hit pitches that most peopl could only dream about. Jim Morrison also had a very melodic and trancy voice.

Layne Staley from Alice in Chains had the best voice in rock, in my opinion. Then would come Maynard James Keenan from Tool and Aaron Lewis from Staind.

to me, zach de la rocha is the worst vocalist ever ..that's because of his voice, not his lyrics

oh man, i think he is amazing. He raps everything out, its not really singing but i think he is just so able to channel his anger into every one of his songs.

I remember back when Rage was still together and Zack was the shit... his political angst was so cool...

Now, I know that the band is better off with Chris Cornell

Yeah, too bad the pitches he hit weren't in any key recognized by any musician anywhere.

My votes are for Thom Yorke and David Gilmour
