Roger Daltrey. Hands down.
|
Bob Dylan for sure. No one can sing words with as much emotion or sheer power that he can. He can make the most plain line seem like something out of this world.

Glen Danzig on anything after The Misfits. But James Hetfield is up there too. And Ive gotta mention God.... just because I got to see Motorhead with Maiden and Dio.......
For those of you who dont get that joke.... Lemmy Killmeister. |
Getty Lee isn't worthy of sucking my left testicle. If I want to listen to a Chipmunks album, I'll buy one that has been properly recorded, then sped up. That Lee guy's a crime against nature.
|
Mike Patton by far.
His vocal range is utterly amazing. |

Dan Andriano - Alkaline Trio

Maynard James Keenan from Tool and A Perfect Circle
Zack de la Rocha (Excelent lyrics and one of the few rappers I actually can stand :) ) Brian from Catharsis (Noone can scream like him, and his lyrics are just incredible) Simen Hestnes, the clean vocals on Dimmu Borgir Mikael Åkerfelt from Opeth (I just love they way he changes between clean vocals to deep demonic growling) |

Old: Robert Plant (Led Zepplin), Justin Hayward(The Moody Blues), Freddie Mercury(Queen)
New: Daniel Johns (Silverchair) I know what ya might say but Silverchair are definitely one of the most awesome bands I've heard of any time. Daniel Johns has one a the most versatile voices I've heard in a loooooong time. If you're a fan you'd know what I'm talkin about. I mean he can write/sing songs like Massacre, Spawn Again, Satin Sheets, etc. then do songs like Miss You Love, After All These Years, Favorite Thing, then yet again do awesome songs like Emotion Sickness, Black Tangled Heart, Tuna In The Brine. And on and on all types of different songs. I think their new album is fuckin great even though it's completely different. Eddie Vedder ( Pearl Jam) I can't believe no one mentioned him yet. I rarely see a performer who looks so rivetting on stage. Ya watch him sing he's passionate as hell it's fuckin great. No one sounded like them when they came out either. They're just fuckin great period. Hmm Brett Scallions always struck my fancy. I think his rasp is awesome n his screaming is great. I was a huge fan as soon as I heard Innocent. Then seeing him sing it it is pretty rivetting as well since he really gets into it and you can see all the veins poppin out of his head. I gotta give honorable mentions to Axel Rose, Chino (dude hits incredible notes), Chris Cornel (Hits even higher notes...or at least used to.) Serj is fuckin awesome too his vibrato is amazin I was hooked with Spiders on their first album. Geoff from Queensryche. Brian Vander Ark from The Verve Pipe hell I could go on for hours so I guess I'll stop here. Asta!! |

thom york trent reznor neil young and that guy from live.. |
Ian Gillan - Deep Purple
|
Chris Cornell
|
Cornell, Keenan, Staley.
|
Robert Plant at his peak. His voice had that edge to it
|
Easily the best Vocal artist has got to be Brian Vander Ark of the Verve Pipe, really nice guy, and makes amazing music.
|
Robert Plant, and Chris Cornell are my favorites.
|
Bono and Eddie Vedder
|
Maynard
Mike Patton Kurt Cobain |
peter gabriel. not necessarily my favorite artist (although he's up there), but his voice is my favorite.
|
Maynard James Keenan
I'm amazed by his phrasing and non-conforming vocal style. |
Chris Cornell
Freddy Mercury Jerry Cantrell Justin Hawkins of the Darkness |
Put me down for Maynard and Mikael from Opeth -- when he isn't doing his cookie monster impression, that is.
|
Eric Clapton, Roger Plant, and David Gilmore
|
Trent Reznor,
Dave Wyndorf (Monster Magnet), LEMMY, Bruce Dickensen, call me crazy but i like Bon Scott too, Freddie Mercury, Steven Tyler in the earlier days, |
maynard's prototype.... danny elfman.
|
Jerry Garcia. The most emotion I've ever heard is packed into his voice. His ballads will bring you tears and the rockers ("I wish I was a headlight on a northbound train") will have you moving like no other
|
Trent Reznor
Peter Gabriel Geddy Lee Jim Morrision |
Scott Stapp from Creed :|
j/k |
Kurt Wagner from Lambchop
Jeff Tweedy of Wilco David Lowery of Camper Van Beethoven/Cracker Britt Daniel from Spoon I think they all have very unique voices that you don't hear a lot elsewhere. Not sure how 'rock' they are, but they all are to some extent. |
Another vote for Chris Cornell. He can do pretty much everything with his voice.
|

Ooo... Robert Plant, Dan McCafferty, Jim Morrison, I like Mercury... Many more...
What about Neil Young?...heh. |
David Bowie, no Axl Rose, no David Bowie
|
Robert Plant in his prime was unmatched, IMO.
|
OMG, went to see OAR on Saturday. Mark Roberge is amazing.
|
