Maynard James Keenan from Tool and A Perfect Circle
Zack de la Rocha (Excelent lyrics and one of the few rappers I actually can stand ) Brian from Catharsis (Noone can scream like him, and his lyrics are just incredible) Simen Hestnes, the clean vocals on Dimmu Borgir Mikael Åkerfelt from Opeth (I just love they way he changes between clean vocals to deep demonic growling) |

Old: Robert Plant (Led Zepplin), Justin Hayward(The Moody Blues), Freddie Mercury(Queen)
New: Daniel Johns (Silverchair) I know what ya might say but Silverchair are definitely one of the most awesome bands I've heard of any time. Daniel Johns has one a the most versatile voices I've heard in a loooooong time. If you're a fan you'd know what I'm talkin about. I mean he can write/sing songs like Massacre, Spawn Again, Satin Sheets, etc. then do songs like Miss You Love, After All These Years, Favorite Thing, then yet again do awesome songs like Emotion Sickness, Black Tangled Heart, Tuna In The Brine. And on and on all types of different songs. I think their new album is fuckin great even though it's completely different. Eddie Vedder ( Pearl Jam) I can't believe no one mentioned him yet. I rarely see a performer who looks so rivetting on stage. Ya watch him sing he's passionate as hell it's fuckin great. No one sounded like them when they came out either. They're just fuckin great period. Hmm Brett Scallions always struck my fancy. I think his rasp is awesome n his screaming is great. I was a huge fan as soon as I heard Innocent. Then seeing him sing it it is pretty rivetting as well since he really gets into it and you can see all the veins poppin out of his head. I gotta give honorable mentions to Axel Rose, Chino (dude hits incredible notes), Chris Cornel (Hits even higher notes...or at least used to.) Serj is fuckin awesome too his vibrato is amazin I was hooked with Spiders on their first album. Geoff from Queensryche. Brian Vander Ark from The Verve Pipe hell I could go on for hours so I guess I'll stop here. Asta!!

Robert Plant at his peak. His voice had that edge to it

Maynard James Keenan
I'm amazed by his phrasing and non-conforming vocal style.

Kurt Wagner from Lambchop
Jeff Tweedy of Wilco David Lowery of Camper Van Beethoven/Cracker Britt Daniel from Spoon I think they all have very unique voices that you don't hear a lot elsewhere. Not sure how 'rock' they are, but they all are to some extent. |
