My collection is small compared to a lot of you guys. I've got 919 songs, taking up 3.2 GB. But, my HD is only 20 GB.

I just went through and reorganized my stuff, so that it's named properly, and has the right tagging in the file, so you know what it is when you play it back. Had to do about 275 songs that I hadn't done yet. The total is 1,234 songs, consuming 6.24GB on the server's hard drive.

100+ gigs, well over 17,000 tracks at this point.
Still lots of 128s in there, but I replace those as time allows with higher quality stuff. Newsgroups, Napster, Morpheus, Kazaa; they've all been my friends, but I buy music like crazy and always have. I still have 10 crates of vinyl, boxes of tapes and well over 3,000 CDs. A huge part of my MP3s are ripped from those sources so I don't have to wear down the originals - especially with hard-to-find material like a Buckingham/Nicks album or something like that... I have specifically bought a ton of music because of things I stumbled across online. There's a Canadian band called The Watchmen, specifically, who would probably be very happy their stuff ended up online, as I own 4 of their CDs now. Same goes for people like Jim's Big Ego, Martin Sexton...the list goes on and on. With no good radio stations anymore (thanks a TON, ClearChannel...), P2P is how I hear new things these days and if I like it, I go buy it. Just like if I heard it on the radio.

Somewhere around 30 GBs now - all the CDs/LPs that I encode are in Flac format now, but I do have sizeable amount in APE though.
I do have 9 GBs of MP3s that I have DLed from emusic.com, but I f'ing hate to even look at mp3 for files that I encode, Ogg using at least the -q6 setting is the only lossless codec I wil touch anymore. |

Just short of 2,000 and I need to rip several more of my CD's, too. The RIAA or whoever can thank Kazaa for letting me hear a track or two off of Talib Kweli's CD, or else I wouldn't have bought it yesterday. Same for Sean Paul, Boomkat (which I now regret buying), Musiq, N.E.R.D., and Our Lady Peace.

Just over 400 songs. 60 comedy songs/stand up.
A lot of them I have the CD's for, others I couldn't find the CD to buy (Like B-sides and shit). Some of them I owed on cassette and am not spending money to replace on CD. As far as I'm concerned, I paid for them already (on cassette) and I have the right to own that music in any format I want to listen to it in. |

Just under 11,000 files totaling 42 gigs...
And then comes the 40 pounds of CDs (yes, I measure them in pounds because I stopped counting them a long time ago).
