78 ford f100, 300 6 engine three speed transmission. It had a slight skip. We changed the plugs, cap,wires. Now has a huge skip. doubled cheecked wiring order and it was correct. The old plugs we removed where burning perfectly. New plugs are blackened. Reinstalled the old plugs, they got blackened and it still skipped. We're dumbfounded.

We figured it out. A carburater screw had fallen out. One of us must have leaned on the aircleaner and wiggled it out. It had ben lose, but we tightened it up. It must have loosened up again. Guess its time for a new screw.
