Workout Routine
I bought a new gym machine for 250, called the Total Gym 1500. My friend has used and it has really helped him out. For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about its basically a inclined bench which rolls up and down by you pulling your own weight through pulleys and cables. It works really well, and tires you out quick. But to be effective, what is the best routine to increase arm, shoulder, chest strength?

Bench Press
Inclined Bench Press Military Press (aka Shoulder Press) Butterflies tricep bench (like a bench, except just use the top half of the arm to bring weight back and forth) Honestly, though, while machines are GREAT to start on to build a foundation, after three months sell that thing and get some free weights. Machine's do not allow you to use your support muscles as much as you could. Trust me. I can bench 250 on a machine, only 160 on free weights. Big difference in real-world, usable power. |
