Sleeping on one side
Not relating to the Twitching while sleeping thread
Whenever I doze off to sleep, I usually sleep on my right side since it's the most comfortable position but whenever I wake up, most of the time, I'm not even sleeping on the side that I find to be comfortable but instead, I'm in a position that I find UNcomfortable. Now, why is that? I'm not a easy sleeper. I twitch, I move all over the place. Hell, I'd be amazed if my future wife would be able to put up with it...

I dunno.. I like to sleep on my side, but I mostly wake up on my back with my mouth wiiiiiide open. And I have to go back to my side to go back to sleep!! I think it's the curse of the moving sleeper.

I curl up on my left to fall asleep-if I wake without the alarm I'm in a different position-maybe it's the position that wakes us up? If I want to go back to sleep, I start over again on my side.

I have a ritual lol I have to start on my left side, then on my back, then on my right side....I cant go to sleep until I have been in all 3 positions (usually about 2 minutes each). I absolutely cannot fall asleep in any other position....but I wake up on my left side every morning.

I usually like to fall asleep on the side facing the wall. And that depends on where I'm sleeping. I wont wake up the next day to my alarm if I am facing away from it, which is kinda bizarre. I don't usually move around a lot when I sleep, but sometimes I wake up on my back which is odd because I hate sleeping on my back.

You'll naturally move around in your bed as you sleep, theres only a very small window of sleep (REM) where your completly imobilised. The rest of the time your all over the place.
Some people get woken up during the night in an uncomfortable position, think what the hell am i like this for, move and go back to sleep. All this can be caused in the first place by the uncomfortable postion, or just light sleeping. I move a hell of a lot in my sleep, i've ended up with my head down the other end of the bed, in my chair, on the floor, curled upside down against a wall (I shit you not. It was a confusing couple of seconds when i woke up i tell you) and across the house in someone elses bed. Go with the flow is what i advise, just as long as you don't end up somewhere stupid, like the middle of the garden...

I know that I'm a tosser and/or turner in the night when I sleep by myself. If I'm with someone else, I generally tend to sleep in one posistion. The weird thing that I've noticed, though, is that each bed that I sleep in, the side that I find most comfortable changes. Sometimes it's my left, sometimes it's my right, depends on the bed/couch/floor. However, more times than not, I end up with my sheets all messed up and in a ball.

i usually have to "test" each position. i'll start on my left side.....cuzz it sounds more comfortable. then i'll move to my right. finally i'll settle for my back, with a pillow on my face, just covering my eyes.
i'll usually wake up on my back. |

im definately not a 'tosser' haha
on a serious not, i really am not a tosser..ill also start my program on left, then right then back then left...thats when i fall asleep. i also only take up a fifth of the width of the bed, while my mrs takes up the rest..but i always stay within my fifth of the bed all night. there have been times where ive been pushed off the bad, and other times when ive copped swinging arms and headslaps in the middle of the night... now thats what i call action at night.. mind you, she did get a headslap back, but she doesnt remember

My most comfortable position to sleep in, is lying on my back with both arms straight up above my head and pillow. Strange...yet very comfy. I ususally move from that position and start rotating from one side to the other as I start to get very close to falling asleep. And damn, by the time I wake up I am usually in very odd random positions, and my blanket is completely tangled about my body.
