Cripple Kid Needs Some Help

as some of you know i am disabled. i'm a c6-c7 quadriplegic paralyzed from the chest down. i have no use of my hands and limited use of my arms. i am beginning to excercise more and try to take better care of myself. i want to get stronger, loose some extra pounds i've put on the last few years, and control muscle atrophy. so i went to my doctor explaining my goals and had all the necessary test ran just to make sure i was ok to start. when the tests came back i had a testosterone level of 128 which i understand is pretty low for a 23 year old male. my doctor recommended depo-testosterone injections along with a balanced diet and supplements to achieve the results i wanted.

after researching online and taking the advice of my doctor this is kind of the program i was thinking of and wanted some opinions of it.

1) 6 small meals a day with the 50-35-15 percentages [50% calories from carbs, 35% from protein and 15% from fat]
2)Cell-Tech by MuscleTech in the mornings before breakfast then a 100% whey protein shake mid-morning [try to get the 1gram protein per pound of weight]
3)Nitro-Tech by MuscleTech after a workout
4)7-Keto MuscLean by Beverly Intl
5)Universal Uni-Liver (dosage recommendations?)
6)1cc depo injection every 2 weeks

i'm trying to do a workout program but with the limited use of my arms and none of my legs; i can only do a few exercises. i can do some cardio like pushing my wheelchair and riding my ergys. i just wanted some input and other people's thoughts about all this cause i'm a noob. thanks in advance

I don't have much help for you, but I just want to say that I'm rooting for your success.

And would one of those electric muscle stimulators for the abs be helpful? Or maybe it's bad, but I bet someone else on the board would know.

Call-tech is a really overpriced product($50+ a month) thats full of mostly sugar, if money is an issue I suggest looking at other alternatives, IE just buying straight up creatine(like 30 bucks for 6 months supply) and some dextrose (like 2 bucks).

I *know* both combined are just as good. All cell-tech is, is creatine combined with dextrose + a bunch of sugar to give it a good flavour. If ya look at the ingredients, there isn't much else to it.

Here's a link for you to read:

thanks for the link i believe thats the way to go. i was reading through that page and it was talking about weight gains while using it; are they meaning muscle mass? i wasnt sure. do you think thats to much protein the 1 gram per pound theory?

While using creatine(cell-techs main or "active" ingredient), you will immediately gain weight, but that is due to your body retaining more water(( don't worry, the 4 or 5 pounds that you gain will look good on you as the water is stored in your muscle and thus makes them slightly larger )). When you stop using creatine, you'll lose that weight. The benefit is that creatine will give you more energy, which will allow you to workout harder, and in turn gain more muscle.

For your personal situation, im not sure if that will be too much protein or not. For me, I get a lot more then that, but only because I eat a ton of food. That being said, I play hockey 4 times a week as well as work out, so my body likely burns a lot more calories then yours would. If you can get that much protein while keeping your calories down, then it would definitely be ideal. However, being that you can't really get much cardio, you should definitley monitor your calories closely.

cell tech is some tough stuff to choke down man they said 99 grams is one serving twice a day and it doesnt mix well and theyre flavors suck. a container is 10days supply and 30 bucks a pop. not worth it ;/
good luck on your routine though and shakes seem to be the best to mix creatine with as it just falls to the bottom of water and most other drinks, rootbeer does ok if you stir it every once in a while.

GUMP! (It's Adam....)

Im finally back on here... =) I've been away for a while...

My advice.. If you want a GOOD suplement, try Betagan by EAS. Its a drink mix of Creatine, HMB, Vitamin C, and Glutamine.. It's labels as an "Active Repair" and great for anyone who works out because it repairs your immune system and all the broken down muscle tissue that occurs after working out. Anyways... I use that and 100% whey every day... Call me sometime.
