1 Hardee's burger. 1,420 calories.
I'm not sure which is more ridiculous. That Hardee's would sell this or that people would willingly eat it.

WOW, that does look pretty good. But it is more calories than many people should eat in a single day. Most women and men under say 160 pounds with an average metabolism would be done for the day with just 1 burger! Yikes.
Pair it with a jumbo coke and large fries! Then you've got guaranteed fatness. |

I read about this a couple weeks ago, then heard a report on the radio. Man, all I can say is What's The Point?!
I've also seen a lot of commercials lately about food being big enough to make you feel full, as if jus thaving a meal is no longer enough. Food portion sizes have doubled in North America over the past couple of decades, led by such things as 7-11'a Super Big Gulp (why drink only 1 litre of pop when you can drink two for only 2 cents more?!), and McDonald's Super "Value" meal (which means the regular size isn't a value, go figure), and I could go on. No wonder the U.S. boasts the highest per capita number of overweight and physcially unfit persons in the entire world. I'm not saying everyone should just eat salads, but by saying that this monstrosity is okay "in moderation" is like saying the occasional snort of coke is a moderate choice, or a trip down your interstate ocassionally at 150 mph is using the gas pedal moderately. Living large is just a figure of speech, not to betaken literally. Take it down a notch, resist the urge to be a gluttonous mound of consumption and think about yourself and your society. Peace, Pierre

Looks good but who could stomach it? I love beef but not that much. I heard that burger wasn't that tasty anyway. Too much meat. Good only on rare occasion. Definitely not a daily lunch I hope.

ive never heard of hardees but that burger kind of reminds me of the bacon ultimate cheeseburger from jack in the box and that burger requires lots of sauce as lubrication to swallow and bacon for flavor otherwise its just too much beef patty.

No, because "fat" in itself isn't a problem. Excess calories and saturated fats are a problem.

Calories, fat, blah blah blah. Has anyone seen the woman riding the bull and eating that thing?
She's making girlfriends everywhere very angry, and I'd say the resulting calories expended trying to make it up to "pookie" deserves a burger! |

Here's the whole commercial. The name of the woman escapes me right now, not that I knew it before, either.
those with girlfriends are warned!! I dont' want to turn this into a sexual post...I hope that isn't the case. http://www.kontraband.com/show/popup...D=1709&TTVAL=2 |

Maybe ill scrape off the mayo, or take off a piece of bacon. That should save some calories.Does anyone know the daily average for calorie consumption? I wonder how big it is, it doesnt really look any bigger than a double quarter pounder to me.

Daily average calorie consumption in the Western world (modern, industrial nations like USA, Germany, Canada, etc.) is somewhere around 3,500 calories. In the rest of the world (I believe this includes the entire globe, but if not, it is everywhere but Europe, Australia, Japan, N. America) where the majority of the world's population lives, average calorie consumption is ~2,100 calories/day. It's safe to say that in places like sub-Saharan Africa, average calorie consumption is well below 2,100 calories. They get a majority of their calories from cassava, other tubers, and legumes. The average daily calorie requirement for a human who isn't doing any strenuous work is 2,000 calories. There is a lot of variation on actual numbers, as people of different activity levels, health levels, and body types will require more calories or fewer calories. Basically, we should box up a bunch of these burgers and send 'em over to where people need them. These things shouldn't become anything close to a regular item on anyone's menu, they're pretty fat-dense. PS, fat has 9 calories per gram, carbohydrates and protein 4 calories per gram, and alcohol, 7 calories per gram. OH, and when you "french-fry" potatoes, you leach out valuable vitamin A, (and a couple other vitamins) as well as load them up with trans-fats (though this depends on the trans-fats present in the oil) which are strongly suspected of depositing in coronary arteries. Okay, I digressed. Just don't eat the damn burgers. Americans get more than enough protein and calories, but not enough veggies and fiber. Here's to your health, Hokiesandwich |

I think the point was more for free publicity than anything. Look at all the talk they have earned for nothing more than making up a double burger. Who cares if they sell a single burger!
