Daily average calorie consumption in the Western world (modern, industrial nations like USA, Germany, Canada, etc.) is somewhere around 3,500 calories.

In the rest of the world (I believe this includes the entire globe, but if not, it is everywhere but Europe, Australia, Japan, N. America) where the majority of the world's population lives, average calorie consumption is ~2,100 calories/day. It's safe to say that in places like sub-Saharan Africa, average calorie consumption is well below 2,100 calories. They get a majority of their calories from cassava, other tubers, and legumes.

The average daily calorie requirement for a human who isn't doing any strenuous work is 2,000 calories. There is a lot of variation on actual numbers, as people of different activity levels, health levels, and body types will require more calories or fewer calories.

Basically, we should box up a bunch of these burgers and send 'em over to where people need them.


These things shouldn't become anything close to a regular item on anyone's menu, they're pretty fat-dense. PS, fat has 9 calories per gram, carbohydrates and protein 4 calories per gram, and alcohol, 7 calories per gram.

OH, and when you "french-fry" potatoes, you leach out valuable vitamin A, (and a couple other vitamins) as well as load them up with trans-fats (though this depends on the trans-fats present in the oil) which are strongly suspected of depositing in coronary arteries.

Okay, I digressed.

Just don't eat the damn burgers. Americans get more than enough protein and calories, but not enough veggies and fiber.
