I hurt me
ok so i play volleyball at my high school. and before practice and everyhting we run and strach out and all that good stuff. i ALWAYS seem to hurt my squad(s) atleast 2 times durring the season. i do 2 quad streches in warmups, but i always seem to do it no matter what. Now i kno what ur thingking, jumping must be a bitch. but no, it's not the jumping that hurts. it's when i get down in ready stance. where ur legs are kind of bent, and all ur weight is pointed forwards.
so the questions are how to not do this anymore. how to manage the pain when it does happen how to fix it when it does happen. thanx |

Yes. After exertion, your muscles tend to tighten up. A good cool-down stretch helps prevent sore muscles and helps them recover more quickly. Also, as with most pulls and strains, until they heal completely, it's very easy to reinjure them. You may want to take some time off (if possible) and let your body heal.

i dunt think thats possible seeing how it's a no practice no play deal, and i love playing. So i dunt think thats gonna happen, but i will do streches after now. thanx for the tip. By the way, the pain only last for about a week, if i take it easy in practice

sometimes you can aggravate a muscle injury if you've worked it too hard or injured it in the past but haven't allowed yourself time to heal completely. i get this sometimes in my biceps when i curl too often. it's just an intense soreness type of feeling when i put a load on the muscle.
a less common cause could be an overdevelopment of some muscle groups to the detriment of others. the imbalance sometimes from an over-developed hamstring muscle will hurt a less developed quad. this is uncommon, but is possible among athletes.

alright, this isn't about my quad, it's about my ankle, i think i may have chipped a bone when i sprained it, because on the back underside of the bone of my ankle theres like a fluid sack, and it seems like theres a hard thing there. any ideas as to what this could be?
i thinki figured out why im hurting it My quad. Because my ankle hasn't healed completely, it hurts to pull on it in certain directions, and thats how i strech my quads, so that one leg im always pulling a muscle in is because it can't get a good strech becuz it hurts my ankle to strech it good, i need a new way to strech my quad without the ankle pain,any1 got anything?
