weird love handle problem

Ok first of all yes I did to a search and yes I know you cannot target a particular area of fat, only diet and excercise can get rid of it.

My question is why is it that the rest of my body is really skinny, but I have love handles? I could understand if I were a lil chubby, got goddam I'm not even the slightest bit chubby, just the love handles. Why does all the fat I eat go straight there?

skinny fat guys are common. my advice is to bulk up first before you worry about your stomach. it just looks bigger because the rest of your body is too small I would think

That's the human's primary location for storing reserve energy (fat). If they are pretty small as they probably are if you skinny, I would not worry about it. Pretty much every one has them. Otherwise you know what you have to do: diet and exercise.

It's called estrogenic fat.
Tougher to lose then normal fat.

Build up muscle then lose weight and see what happens.

The thing is I have no body fat anywhere else, just there, so losing any weight would just be losing muscle

i'm not sure the "why have i got love handles" question is relevant here; surely it's more about "how do i get rid of em" ?

i'm afraid it's the usual 3 recommendations - but i recommend these to everybody no matter what
1) eat healthy
2) cardio - do some running or similar
3) work on your muscles

yes, and also more abdominal muscle means the fat gets spread out more and so looks better ... also any kind of exercise is going to help you get rid of fat so it's a good idea

personally i'm pretty sure my body fat percentage hasn't changed much recently but i look better because i've been doing a lot of work on stomach muscles

Yeah, even at rediculously low body fat, a lot of people have trouble with the stomach. Just get some ab muscles and the love handles will be less noticeable. Of course just find an SO that likes them, and then you can grow them with impunity.

No what he is saying is that you need to lower the estrogen levels in your body by building muscle which will make you produce more testosterone. The reason he mention weight loss is because the only way to actually gain muscle is to gain weight first. Yet if you gain weight for muscle you will be eating allot of protein, and most meat has a TONE of estrogens in it.

you can kind of exchange fat for muscle if you do the high protein diet thing

i've finished my first phase of that, now i'm going for hardcore cardio and see what happens

basically, any exercise is going to help, so try it
