Night terrors/Sleepwalking
Ok,maybe once every few months i experience Hallucinations coupled with a type of sleepwalking when i sleep.
Basicly what happens is i feel like i wake up with great urgency and i believe something is either attacking me, or in my room, or i have to get out the room quickly. For example the last one i had i believed my bedroom was about to blow up and i ran out very quickly then wandered around the upstairs rooms looking for somewhere safe to go. This was midmorning as i got to bed late and other family members where around, and where talking to me, they said i was walking around dopy, but with my eyes open. They shouted me a few times and i "snapped" out of it and had recollection of what i did, but i also saw instantly for what it was, there was no danger etc heh. But it seemed very real at the time, and sense that something bad happens and to get out is really strong. Other times it is something in my room, a small raptor like creature or such, that i throw the duvey over it, and capture it . When i wake in the morning i have a duvey in a heap on the floor and i remembered some of what happened. They do fill you with a real sense of fear at the time. Ive done some research but i cant seem to find anything that matches my situation totally, it seems a cross between night terrors, and sleepwalking, anyway they dont effect me enough that i feel the need to consult a specialist but its pretty damn wierd when they happen, i think ive had them on and off since i was a child as i was discussing them with my brothers and they remember some similar situations when i was younger that sound much like the same thing. Anyways anyone else experience anything like this and got any tips/stories? Its more a curiousity at the moment and its a "quirk" that makes me feel a bit special heh

I've had that. I used to wake up, see something in the shirts in my closet and run over to grab it. I would realize what the hell I just did, and kind of freak out. Just that feeling standing there and wondering if I actually did see anything would really freak me out for the rest of the night. Not something I'd like to repeat.

I've had that from time to time, and all the subject matter i've read indicates it's usually caused by stress or other matters that affect the brain.
As someone who's suffered from night terrors alot, the best thing you can do is try to find a way to snap yourself out of it voluntarily. My way is to jerk my head to the left, which brings my arms and legs into a fetal position by some random reason, and totally wakes me up. I still get the terrors from time to time, but i know i can get out of them, which helps. You should also know that most people do grow out of them, albeit at a late stage. There are very few documented cases where people will have them all through their lives. If you do feel concerned, do go visit a specialist on the matter, they may be able to help further. |

I get bronchitis every year, one of the medicines the doctor gives me, unless I'm paying attention, is a cough medicine with Codeine n it.
If I take that medicine, I experience horrific night terrors, any pain killer, other than advil types cause the same experience, what the doctor eventually told me, it's a very common allergic reaction.

I actually experience the same thing. It's so weird. Usually I have the type of dream where the house I'm in is falling down around me or something of that nature. I've jumped off the bed many times into a cornor or something because I'm getting away from the explosion or something. Once I jumped out of a 2nd floor window! Evidently I stood up in bed and DOVE off it through a screen window flipped in the air and landed on my back. I didn't wake up until the paramedics arrived. They were sure I was on LSD or something. It was unbelievably scary waking up on the front lawn in my underwear with people all around me and not knowing what happened. Needless to say I have to put a lot of thought into sleeping arrangements now. I won't sleep next to a window now and will never leave it wide open if I'm on or above the second floor. Really scary stuff. I have never been to a sleep specialist regarding this but I know I should. Good Luck my friend!

Thats why you don't take narcotics without someone there, and if preferable, don't take them at all. |

I've been known to sleepwalk at times, but I have never remembered doing it at any time... the only thing I have to go on is the word of the person who supposedly found me during the night in the middle of the house. I have noticed though, that it happens when I am EXTREMELY mentally overloaded. Could be the brain's way of trying to straighten out the mental processes, but since you're sleeping, it ends up messing you up.
