fitness goals.

Im pretty sure that everyone that is involved in any sort of fitness has goals for themselves.. get stronger, lose weight, look sexy, etc. I am just curious to what some of your goals are. Please share.

Mine: I weigh 130 lbs. and I want to bench twice my weight, squat three times my weight, and deadlift four times my weight. So my goal lifts are bench - 260, squat - 390, and deadlift - 520. Right now my max is bench - 190, squat - 290, and deadlift - 435. I know, I've got quite a ways to go and its gonna be hard because as I get stronger I'll put on weight and my goal weight will be even higher.

good thread

my first goal was getting to the top of the local hill on my bike without stopping or getting off. Done. Next is to do that, then get to the top of the next hill, also without stopping.

another was running a 10K (6 mile) race in under 50 minutes, also done. Next time it will be under 45 minutes.

weights I'm not so focussed on ... I just want to be reasonably strong. I'll be happy when I've got 40Kg (88lb) on the barbell and can still do 3 sets of 8-10 reps of various exercises. I've got 30Kg (66lb) on it now.

Get up to 190lb (currently 165), be able to bench 1.5 times that, and look damned fine for once in my life.

Long term goals those

I started on May 30th 2004 at 5'10", 193 lbs with goals to get down to 173 lbs.

I'm currently 184 lbs and still losing (only 3 weeks in).

I've completely changed my diet. I won't eat fried foods or drink soda anymore. I'm getting a lot more protein, an equal amount of carbs, and hitting the gym 5 to 6 days a week now and I feel great already!

I have just recently met one of my goal sets, and now I have moved on to another. First I was in a mass & strength up stage. I did it, hit 230, started pushing some big weights. Now I want to lean up without losing the muscle mass. Current goal is to get the body fat % down to under 10. Don't think that will happen this summer though since summer = party and party = beer. Perhaps I'll just put on some more mass this summer and lean up afterwards

My current goal is to run a 3:15:00 Marathon to qualify for the Boston Marathon. I ran my second marathon last month in a time of 3:25:24 and shaving an extra 10 Min. off doesnt seem possible... But its the goal that seems to keep me going.......
