5 & Dime routine success?
I was just wondering if anyone else here has tried the "5 & Dime" routine before?
My friend and I have just started this and it seems like a great way to shock the system and change things up from the normal routine. For those of you who have never heard of it, this is what it is: 8 weeks / cycles of your routine. odd weeks - 3 exercises per muscle group 5 sets of 5 reps @ maximum weight you are supposed to only be able to do 4 reps by set 3, if you exceed this you need to up the weight. even weeks - 2 exercises per muscle group 10 sets of 10 reps @ light - medium weight this is for your fast twitch muscles and you are supposed to bang them out fairly quickly (but never sacrifice form) and fail by about set 7. seems to me like a good system shock. so far i like the routine very much. just thought i'd get some feedback and see if anyone has tried this out before...

I'd be interested in your results as well. I believe in changing the routine and the exercises that you do so that you constantly fatigue your muscles in different ways and stimulate both fast and slow twitch muscle fibers.
Keep us updated!

Well I'm starting in on my "Dime" week now. So far the first pass through the Nickle week has been very tough. I have been really sore afterwards, much more so than usual.
Adding in with the HIIT cardio that I have started I'm hoping for some fast results. This will be an interesting test for this week. I have been more curious to see how the 10 sets of 10 goes rather than the 5 of 5. Since I've been working mostly heavy for mass gaining lately this endurance week should be much harder for me than the heavy week. Anyways, I'll keep you posted on how its going as time progresses...
