How do you keep the BLUBBER off if you're surfin' the net and driving a desk all day?
Personally, I 'm into weight training, cardio, and yoga. I'm interested in hearing about other people's training philosophys and practices.
In my case I like to train intensely, using high intensity training for weights (HIT) and a mix on interval training and heart rate zone for cardio. This doesn't mean I train the same way all the time or am a slave to a particular idea. HIT is not the full answer either, as volume training and other tricks are good for a refreshing switch. I also beleive your weight training should be based on squats, dead lifts, and big compound movements. As for yoga , I do Iyengar which employs static holds for several miuntes. I'm pretty sure it has improved my body awareness and balance. With regards to diet , I'm a grazer, I eat 5-6 small meals per day and strive to avoid simple sugars and saturated fats. Beyond that I eat alot of protein and monitor carbs, but not too tightly as I develop binge inducing craving after 3 days. Anyway, I want to discuss your ideas on training and diet, what ever tickles your fancy. And I want hear about the struggle!! About successes and difficulties!! |

I go to the gym for a hour and a half every morning. Its like my cup of coffee that wakes me up. I do 30 minutes of cardio, and 30 minutes of weights. The last half hour is showering and getting ready for work.
On the weekends, if the weather is nice i take my bike out. I eat healthy at work with fruits and veggie. But sometimes that Whopper w/cheese is calling. I liked yoga, theres just not enough time for me.

To keep myself active, I play basketball with friends, go running, rollerblading, and I do push-ups before bed.
I actually like running once I am doing it. It is just getting up and going that is the tough part sometimes.

I have an obscenely high metabolism. Plus, every day before classes I walk at least 2.5 miles (usually more). I also take the stairs everywhere in school, including the parking lot (I'm usually on the fifth floor). I also spend 30 minutes to an hour working out once I get home and I spend another 30 minutes to an hour working out before I go to bed.

i do what you do gjbourke i go to the gym and do both cardio and weights for about an hour and a half then walk up and down hill everyday to university. I tired to limit myself of sugars and fatty foods. So far i've been able to not gain anything, but haven't lost an aweful lot either.

I'm like Ashton in this... I eat a lot, compared to most other people I know. I don't eat candy, however, nor cookies or anything. Just breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I'm 1.90 meters tall, and have been 75 kg since I stopped growing (18/19). |
