Work life - attraction to manager?
Hi,
So, I've been in the workforce (computer/tech stuff) for awhile now. However, the past few weeks is the first time I've had an attractive female for a manager, and my own response makes me wonder how common my reaction is. I've worked with this person (We'll call her 'A') for the past two years, and while I've found her attractive in many ways, I've never really had a 'thing' for her, or anything. However, since she's become my manager, I've found myself very much more attracted to her, and, really, the *idea* of illicit contact between us. For some reason, the subtle power relationship, tangled up with the fact that she's an attractive female, is an incredible turn-on for me. I've never been attracted to the domination aspect of sexuality, but in this situation...wow. I'll keep this post PG by not recounting the dreams I've been having lately, but you get the idea. My question is...how common is this? Since, the world being the way it is, females are more likely to be 'managed' by males than the reverse, have any of our female members experienced this? What about the males? Ever been managed by an attractive member of the opposite sex? Did you have the same experience as I'm having? Apparently, some people can compartmentalize, and can work with (or for) an objectively attractive member of the opposite sex without being attracted to them. This isn't the case for me, and, I'm sure, others out there. (Disclaimer: I'm happily married, not stupid enough to 'try something', and am absolutely sure she's not interested. All this is just fantasy.) |

Everyone says its healthy to fantasize. Honestly, I never really felt that kind of tension about anyone...I guess it's more so a small crush than wanting to sleep with someone. Anyways, if you're happily married, I think that it's best to stay away from this lady (especially if she shows interest) because it's a slippery slope and it'll be really hard to stay away from temptation. Best to keep your distance and avoid situations.
Anyways, it's common. Women feel the same way too...maybe not as much as men but a good amount. |
