I'm always very polite, never admit to going over the speed limit and have gotten 5 warnings... mostly for 10ish over
one was pretty iffy in my opinion... was moving with the flow of traffic bout 5 over and a cop turned thru the median on the highway to pull me over, came up and said that I was going a little fast and that my tail light was burned out. he then collected all 5 drivers licenses for my friends/family that was in the vehicle and had me come back and get in his car with him... he called in all the drivers licenses and asked me about each person and then tried to trip me up by asking things contradictory to what I had been saying, then he started asking me lots of drug questions and then asked if he could look thru my car, I told him no. he ended up writing for the tail light, after he went back to his car I had my buddy press the pedal and turn on my lights... my tail lights were fine... looked back at the officer but he was looking down, dont think he noticed I had checked the tail lights. I think the funniest part was when the officer asked me why I was nervous... I told him it was because I had never been asked to sit in the front of a cops car... I really think he just saw an SUV full of college kids and wanted to try and make a drug bust.

But they take a risk to do that. If they pull me over and search my car without permission or a warrant, and claim that they smelled marijuana, and then they don't FIND any marijuana, they're up a creek. How could they have smelled it if there isn't any there. Now we have an illegal search. |
