I don't know if anyone's been to the ign site or not...but they have the most badass/speculatory teaser ever...well maybe not ever...but. So what do you guys think, am i the only MGS fan left. from the people i can make out on the poster i see, Otacon, Snake, Ocelot, and Vamp...maybe? there looks like someone that could be the boss. it just makes me so excited i thought i'd start a thread about it.

On the poster it looks like its Vamp, Meryl, Raiden, Ocelot, Snake, and Otacon from left to right. The last two probably new bosses.

The old guy with the eye patch looks kinda like Big Boss or maybe Solidus? It would be awesome if they somehow revive Big Boss.

I would personally LOVE to see MGS 4 cover the zanzibar incident. see Big Boss and Solid Snake fight it out, see how grey fox died and became ninja.
But that's just me...

I wouldn't want to play something that was already played through in previous games and/or described in the story line.

2nd person starting from the right would be big boss, IMO. But it looks like a corpse...
Its probably the cloning process....Maybe we get to see the creation of liquid, solid, and solidus snake in the game....although I doubt that's what the whole game is about seems the preview is letting us know the theme of the game is "Nowhere to hide" I also hope that if there is a part where we play as Raiden, its a lot shorter than the Snake part. Snake is just the man. And it seems, according to the preview, that we'll see a bit of both characters in the game...and I don't mind a bit difference in gameplay..and a set of distinct moves for each character. As long as Snake gets to be the star. I'd like to find out how Big Boss turns evil... But anyway I'm guessing this will take place after the MGS2: sons of liberty incident..did you see Otacon's face? Either a bear took a bite out of it...or he became a cyborg ninja...Snake is also looking kinda old... And Raiden holding a baby???wtf. I was trying to look at the numbers scattered around that pic to find some wort of meaning...but didn't find anything. A friend told me those circles with a line coming out could mean some kind of gender issue...seeing how those circles have no arrow or cross at the end of that little line..and that would probably have to do with all the genetic manipulation.. Many Meril has some genetic similarities with snake... And Vamp...looks like we'll be having some fun with the last member of Dead cell. Does he ever die? 3 times in MGS2 weren't enough, apparently. we might find out who the patriots are. LaLuLiLeLo. (so...no, you're not the only MGS series fan ) |

^ u seem to be right. Looks like a strange glove though..and why would he be holding it there..
I can't wait. And I really think that IS raiden holding that baby..he looks just like him from that art we can see in the MGS2 instruction booklets. |

HAHA saw that video on Gamespot the other day. I'm glad to see we're Snake again. I'd like to see what happened to snake and liquid/ocelot at the end of MGS2. That was a great scene. If that's Raiden, and if that's Raiden's baby, thats cool, cuz it's a few years later. If that's Olga's baby, this could be right after MGS2, and thats cool too. The game (S2) had a good story I thought, but left me with alot of questions. A continuation would help make MGS2 feel like less a mess. (loved it, regardless of confusion, for the record)

On their site, Konami has said that it does take place after the events of MGS2. So its all good..
When I had first heard about MGS3 taking place in the 60's...I was like "what???? I wanna know who the patriots are!" But I ended up thinking it was the best Metl Gear game ever made. Apparently MGS3: Subsistence is coming out soon (sorta like MGS2: Substance) with all sorts of cool stuff: online play (you playing against your friends) and I think there'd be a coop mode. Plus you can play MGS and MGS2. And other stuff. |

I don't know about it. Looks like you have to play as that old wrinkled lamer Solid Snake. The only thing that could save this game is Raiden. I'll let you decide if I'm joking.

I really want to see where they go with the whole NOTHING IS PRE-RENDERED. I wonder if we will be able to find a Nikita and blow everything to smitherenes (sp?). What is the General feeling of Snake being an old man? IT shows you what a bad ass snake is, but whats with the goofy mustache, i'm glad he kept his signature mullet whoop whoop. I was confused with why he was smoking a cigarette, but then i remember that i was playing as big boss in the third installment (which was so amazing i'm wondering how this one is going to top it.) Finally, all of a sudden Snake learns CQC? WTF...they're going to have to revise the first two games to include it now, much like TWIN SNAKES is MGS1 with first person stick ups . I don't know if you all can tell how excited i am. back to CQC for a moment. is it me, or does it make the game easier. I mean if you get spotted just slam all the guards to the ground...instant evasion (then wake them up one by one and make em talk!). I'll stop ranting, but it sucks we're going to have to wait a year or so before the PS3 comes out. Does anyone know if they're planning to have it ready FOR release?

This as a release game would be a system seller game. While I would sure like to get my hands on this game, I'm willing to give Kojima all the time he needs. I want them to take their time and get the game right, and while it would be a system seller, I don't want Sony to end up rushing them in the end.
I'm excited now. BTW, the screenshots show a little trouble with antialiasing. This is not pre-rendered. I'm still not sure about Killzone though.

I'm just skeptical because I've seen lots of videos made "with the graphics engine" that looked nothing like the game when it actually came out. |

it's a cut scene that will most likely make it into the final release of the game, like all of the previous MGS games have done at game shows. it WILL look like that during the gameplay, because it is actually using the same engine used for........gameplay. welcome to MGS, land of the beautiful cut scenes using the real graphics engine. the game will come out, and the gameplay will be just as beautiful as the "rendered cut scenes," because it is using the same engine to do it they were most likely using either a PS3 or a computer not more powerful than a PS3 to render the cut scene. no worries. Kojima doesn't fuck around

MAJOR JIZZAGE!!!
oh jesus lord. I had kind of told myself I wouldn't purchase a PS3, I think that trailer just blew that thought right off my mind... look. Kojima has never ever disappointed me in the past. Whether or not we liked raiden in 2, the gameplay was still great, and cooperating with Snake is fun. The story was incredible. 3 was just amazing. Nothing wrong with it at all.. So I don't think they can fuck number 4 up. I think Kojima knows what he's doing, guys, trust him on this one. |
