Great online game where you make your own nation, you can make your own flag, the way you deal with issues effects how your country is run. Really fun game. There are wars, region take overs etc. Good way to kill a few hours in a day. My currency is the potato and clones are running rampant. Not to mention criminals are executed in the street and uranium mining is killing my forests. LOL. |

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. It's not really MMORPGs, RPG, Strategy, Card, Etc... but it is free.
"Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is a Multiplayer Online First Person Shooter. It's a team game; you will win or fall along with your comrades. The only way to complete the objectives that lead to victory is by cooperation, with each player covering their teammates and using their class special abilities in concert with the others." This was supposed to be an expansion for RtCW, but was released as a free stand alone version instead. http://www.3dgamers.com/games/wolfensteinet/ |

That should take you to the DL, if you're using windows. Here is the containing page if that doesn't work or you're on a Mac or some Linux distro.

Another abandonware site with similar games to the first one posted - classic games that didn't sell well enough to keep the company afloat, but were still brilliant - Home of The Underdogs. You can get some fantastic games here, I'm now replaying Dungeon Keeper after about seven years of waiting.
The Independant Games Festival has links to a bunch of games without publishers - these are usually free. One game in particular from this year's lineup that has got me addicted - N. You play a small ninja in a game that's similar to Lode Runner, only instead of making holes in the floor you can jump around and off walls. And you need to, because the world is populated by a lot of killer robots. 300 levels, lots of deaths (my death count is closing in on 35,000), lots of fun. Well worth trying out (And it's completely free). |

I used to play WWII online religiously. awesome game and waaaaay out of beta now. It was pretty bad when it first came out, but now its just plain awesome. a half-scale map of europe in one giant battle, from germany to france and up into england, there are multiple types of infantry, tanks, planes and ships. it great cause you load up in the back of a truck and get driven out to battle, sometimes an enemy plane will spot your convoy and tyou see your buddy's drop dead as the plane straffes you. prettyy intense. they are constantly updating the game, they just put in parachuters too!
definatly check this game out. its unlike and FPS you've ever played. its a virtual battlefield. |

I play N!!!
I had to quit since I could never get past chapter 5 I actually had some friend play ROSE Online they didnt like it too much due to the massive amounts of lag that they seem to always get. Maybe it has gotten better (considering that gravity is the guys making the game, I highly doubt that) A Really Addictive Game that I found was a game called Doukutsu It looks lame at first but its a great game to play, extremely addictive!!! |

THANG Online
It's an MMO in development, but the developers don't speak particularly good English, so I can't tell if it's in open beta or actually free. They have a system where you can buy ingame equipment with real money, so it might actually be free... I'm not sure. It's pretty fun, if a little basic at the moment. Flash Flash Revolution A Flash version of Dance Dance Revolution. Extremely addictive, and free. |

Diablo 2 kinda sucks now
all the little a**holes keep talkin $h1t for no good reason not to mention all the hackers that still exist in there. It was a fun game. actually built a soceress, necro, and assassin to lvl 99 But now I don't like that game at all anymore I heard Guild Wars will be like a D2 style game, I might try that out. |
