Need For Speed: Underground 2
I loved the first game and I still play it from time to time(I beat it 4 times already). This one has 30+ cars, they added the Lexus and the RX-8 that I know about others I have no idea. You can also put a stereo in your car this time
Also got them Scissor doors(like a Lamborghini) and the split open hood(opens down the middle). So I will be counting down the days till it comes out NFSU2 P.S. I don't know if this has been posted already

The first one was above average. I hate the fact that weather or not you hit a tree will determine the outcome.
PS: that chick is pretty.

Give it a go when he goes to bed....unless hes like 16 or so then just ask to play with him one time....I play my dad a couple of times, but he is 52 and has never used a console system in his whole life!

I'm more of a fan of Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 , but NFSU did provide quite a bit of fun. That game just got irritating with the way they gave the computer such blatent enhancments to make up for thier shitty car compared to mine... >:O
Scripted traffic and excessive eyecandy also knocked it a few points. I'd still give it a good solid 8 / 10 tho.

The first game was good, but It got stale after a while. I don't think game will hold my attention for very long unless some of the shortcomings of the first game are vastly improved. I hope I'm wrong though.

NFSU was great. But like in most games, you can't tweak the car much, or in this case, not at all. All u can do is upgrade the engine, etc...
Maybe if they implemented damage on the cars, not like CMR 4, but rather light damage, like bumpers flying off and hitting the car on you rear view mirror.. in my opinion stuff like that makes the game even more interesting and fun to play. |

EA and XBox worked out a deal, and I'm pretty sure Underground 2 will be on Live.
That was their big announcement at E3 this year, and was a huge blow to the PS2, particularly the EA Sports portion, because that was the one thing PS2 had over XBox until then (online play). I just did some searching mid-post, and here is what I came across. The game is indeed going to be on Live: Quote:

I'm more excited about Street Racing Syndicate. Hell, lisenced cars with damage. Upgrading that's actually realistic. An analouge clutch. Sexual graphics. <3

Damage would be awesome but it was so hard to do they just didn't bother, EA never really had a good damage model(just look at the past NFS games), IN hot Pursuit 2 I could smash the shit out of my car with almost no damage!

Oh ya Midnight Club 2 looked lame to. But in NFSU1 hitting a tree slowed you down a lot so there is no need for a damage model right now!

NFSU was fun for a while, I still play it occationally. However, the thing that irritates me the most is the selection of cars. I know this is a matter of taste, but I like european and american sports cars soooo much better than the eastern ones. And by european I mean the old-school european companies like Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lotus etc. It's almost impossible to find a decent street racing game these days with those types of cars, it makes me really sad. Porsche Unleashed is still one of the best ones around and I've played it to death by now, no challenge anymore.

Just my guess, but I believe they are aiming for the "Street racing" type of game. Thus their loyalty to "street racing" cars. Yes, pasta-rockets and detroit muscle can street race, but they're aiming for more of "The Fast and the Furious" type of crowd.

Yeah, I suppose so... I'd just love hitting a Carrera GT into a 4-wheel slide around the corners while dodging traffic. Or trying to handle the huge weight and power of a Aston Marting Vanquish in a narrow alley. The "rice racers" just don't give me the same satisfaction. Like I said, it's a matter of taste.

Jap cars are hot.. rx8 rx8 rx8
I live in Asia, so erm.. biased thought there. But stocking them up with mods is .. something really cool that you can't really do to the supercars elsewhere in the world.. like.. who plays around with Porches or Ferraris, they just drive them out of the shop , or garage.. wherever you buy the car. It's supposed to look "Underground" where these cars come out at night because they "glow" :P Haha, I'm an Underground freak.. and so is my 9 year old bro.. |

Yeah, that's true as well. If someone would start putting body kit in a shining new Ferrari or Aston Martin, he'd get lynched by his fellow drivers
I'll most likely get NFSU2 and like it, atleast it seems to have the new Mustang so I can drive atleast something I'd like to have in real life. I'm just sad that there are no good games with cars that fit my taste. |

I was surprised they didn't have the Porsche,Lotus or even Lexus in the first one, but maybe it is in this one, they aren't telling us all the cars they have. I can understand why they don't have Ferrari in there. |

Ok.
1) Its almost impossible to get companies to liscense their cars for a game to smash them up. Most companies refuse to have people assosciate their cars with banged up hunks of wreckage. The reason Midnight Club 2 could do it is that they were all fake cars modelled after real ones. 2) The reason all of the cars are eastern, with the exception of the VW and Ford is because that is the tuner culture. Street racing kids do not tune up porsches and drag them. They use Hondas, ala "The Fast and The Furious". Although, I hope they have a PT cruiser in the new one. Paz |

I'm really excited about NFSU 2. Wow, I loved the first, but it got incredibly hard around race 96 or so..
I love car games that use real cars, and NFSU just blew me away.. It was so fun and fresh. I also had a lot of fun tweaking and modifying the cars, and it seems that's been taken to a new level in the sequel. I also like how in the sequel you are dropped into one large city and free to drive around at will. Personally, I love to just drive around without doing anything.. I mean, it would get old eventually, but it's great to just "Free drive" to mess around with the car and try things. Of the games coming out in the next few months, I'd say NFSU 2 is easily the one I am most excited about. |

i loved the first game, but there was so much more they could have done with it, that i am hoping will happen this time around.
some things i'd like to see: 1. having a rated # for hp and trq so you know exactly what your car is running 2. having different brands and part set-ups giving different numbers 3. some sort of police mode 4. a co-op mode would be great my other gripes with the game should be resolved by the open-ended city interface that will be implemented. hopefully this game will meet all of our expectations. |
