Diablo II Patch v1.10 is out now!

Finally! It's been like, years.

Oh wait, it *has* been years.

I'm totally going to start on the ladder and hopefuly get some nice new item drops.

Hopefully the bugged and hacked items have been taken care of.

So, thoughts? I'll report back later once I've had the opportunity to fully explore it.

I played it a little today. I'm a big fan of the changes. They made it more challenging, got rid of the hacks, and just made it over all more fun. I am excited to see the "world event" in action.

Diablo II version 1.10

I and I assume many other thousands of people have been waiting for the new version of diablo II to come out. Now that it has I must say that I am very dissapointed. For instance, people created hacked items because Hell mode was impossible to beat. Now they took out the hacked items so its really hard again and THEN increased the difficulty so that its uber impossible. Now theres more stupid visualy effects too which are completely pointless but took a long time to make. I was just wondering what your opinion of it was.

Well, I haven't been able to play yet, I quit with 1.09(d or e, not even sure which version of it...) with hardcore players, and just about every item in the game. I checked back to www.battle.net every once in a while to see the progress, and from what i've heard, they've made one hell of an addition to the game. Anyways, check out the other post on this subject, probably get more replies there.

Well it has been a huge addition but mostly they added tons of bullshit. Months of work down the drain for Blizzard if you ask me.

That was my favorite part of the game but now they've made it so that you can only make a secret cow level in normal mode, so no more leveling up in nightmare or hell.

Oh well, I'll live. At least they haven't done away with it completely. I'm actually rediscovering how much fun it is to rough it out.

On a related note, I honestly don't understand all the people who complain about how hard the game is after losing their bugged and hacked items. What's the fun in any game without some kind of challenge? Just quit the game already if you can't handle playing it the way it was designed.

I sure hope you don't call yourself a gamer. You say the game isn't cool anymore because now its harder? Yeah thats not the true spirit of a gamer. It getting harder has only made it MORE fun. There are a few reasons people don't like the patch 1) They can't take a good Challenge and 2)They lost all their precious hacked items. I sincerely hope you don't fit in either category.

Also, This other 1.10 thread was out a day before you.

Rad! Are you still working on that Necro? Mine is at 25 now and we're finally in Act 4.

Regarding my theory on making cow levels: I joined a public game in Hell and someone was able to make a Hell cow level, so I don't know what it was that prevented me from using the recipe to open a portal (unless they changed the recipe). I'm pretty sure I haven't received credit for killing the Cow King.

You know it's funny. I use to toss all the low level set and unique items, but now I get all excited when a monster drops a Deathspade Axe or something.

There's some synergistic bonuses in skill sets now. I haven't figured out what skills to use as my main attack yet, but I can't wait until I can use my fire golem.

There is this really cool thing that happens with certain expansion sets that make your character glow like an Amazon's Valkyrie. So far it works with full IK's, full M'avina's, full Aldur's, and full Tal Rasha's. With full Trang Oul's set, my Necromancer changes shape completely, and runs at what look like two or three times as fast as normal.

I still don't get the secret to releasing the Diablo Clone. Maybe after I've defeated normal...

Actually in 1.10 you level slower than before. Geuss you missed it by a little. There is a small difference between a challenge and completely impossible to beat in a decent amount of time. Oh and sorry I'm just really lazy and didnt feel like looking for another diablo thread.

You can kill stuff fast enough, you just need to get some synergy with your character. Or be a necromancer.

P.S.

Diablo Clone is a pussy.

I put a few points in the wrong places (started making a Blood Golem with Iron maiden before realizing how they nerfed the fuck outta the combo)... oh well I have 8 character prospects that I'm making. Now to just pass that 2 hours limit on all of them.. thats 16 hours of gaming ahead of me (well 15.. Verizon fuckin' cut out at 3am last night.. so I only got one hour on the sorcy).

Diablo II Map-Hack Update
Friday, October 31, 2003
In keeping with our aggressive stance against hacks and cheats, we will no longer issue advance warnings regarding the use of Diablo II "map-hack" programs. Using a map-hack violates the Battle.net Terms of Use Agreement, and Diablo II accounts that are now found to be used in conjunction with a map-hack will be subject to closure and the CD Keys with which these accounts are associated are subject to being disabled.
We will continue to monitor Battle.net for instances of cheating and hacking and we will continue to take action as needed.

As always, thank you for your continued support; with your help we have been able to keep Battle.net a fun and safe place to play Blizzard games.

useast.. pally.. lvl 44 finally i think.. im currently tanking normal countess in black marsh/tower for runes and nm grizwald in tristam.. (he can drop up to TC 66 armor and weapons in nightmare)

in 1.10 ladder that is.. ladder you can tranz runes all the way to a zod.. currently i cant get a better weapon than a raskescar axe and a steelclash shield.. normally in 1.09 im screwed.. no so in 1.10 ladder.. you can upgrade uniques (most anyways) to exceptional and elite using runes and such.. so those two items gonna rock soon.. *costorf4 is my account im on on east ladder only
