Yeah but some elemental builds are just fun to play with
Paladins can be great fun you build your stats right as well. Vengeance/Conviction is still great. Then spend the rest of your points evenly in the single resists to buff your vengeance. I personally don't go for the mainstream characters that everyone makes. I choose the strange combos, tho I did make a vengeance/conviction pally... started getting popular as I made it oddly enough. I have a meditation pally in the works. He's fun as i don't need mana steal and can cast B Hammer forever.. but damn the more I play AS him.. the more I want to play ALONGSIDE him.. heh. Summoning Druids are fun too.. they're tough at later difficulties, but they're still fun. Also pally's can own in hell because unlike other classes they can still have kick ass Resists in Hell.

Hehe, I still have a level 80 elemental druid from .09 wearing full aldurs. He's totally orange and has that valkyrie glow for arming the full set. It's neat, but I will probably never play this fellow again, so right now he's just going to be my set mule.
So, as of last night, I finally met with the DC in the middle of doing a Meph run. Even with some help from an amazon and sorc, we couldn't hold him off because he spawned in Travincial, where those Zealots heal each other. It's bad enough that the DC regenerates health! Tried bonewalling him while the sorc used static field and hydra on him, and the zon using a buriza with nature's peace. Turns out that the "prevent monster healing" only works if you actually hit the monster, and the duration only lasts 20-30 seconds, reseting after each hit. We didn't stand a chance. After several deaths we decided we couldn't do it, so we just proceeded with our Meph run. *shakes fist* At least I only died 3 times, I guess. My necro is now close to level 83 and we just killed Baal in Hell with hardly any trouble. Tried doing a cow run, but they seem to have a lot of health, and we just couldn't kill them fast enough! I guess all there's left to do now is level up to 99 until the ladder season ends (whenever that is), or do a bunch of magic finding. What I wouldn't kill to get a boneshade lich wand! Next time I'll be better prepared for that dreaded DC.

I hand an element druid with a basicly all the gear my pally now has. He was great fun till I got to hell and then all the deaths kinda of kept me from enjoying him.
And Collide you saw the DC? Except for those death's I'd say you were lucky. I've been trying to find one in a game for ages now with no luck

Yup, I didn't manage to get a screenshot of him out of all the excitement and scrambling, but I did get one of the text at the top where it says "Diablo walks the Earth" while I was talking to Ormus in the Kurast Docks. I know a couple people who've seen him several times a day, but I've only seen him once, so I don't know if they're being completely honest with me.
I've seen screenshots of him in red and green, but when we spawned him in Travincial, he was green. I still remember that much without taking any screenshots. The SOJ counter was going off every couple seconds instead of every few minutes, and it became increasingly frequent before he finally appeared. The ground shook and then the text appeared at the top signifying his arrival. He won't escape us next time. RAWR!!

Well, honestly, I dont like the new patch. Dont say its cause my items were taken away, I'm fully legit. The new patch has afew things that I really like, but over all the patch was a waste of time. Old chars cant do well most of the time, and new chars take weeks on end to build... I liked being able to level fast because I dont have all the time in the world to spend on a game. So I guess blizzard can kiss my money goodbye, cause they're not getting any more of it.

wait, your mean your going stop buying blizzard games all together b/c of this patch? If so that's silly. Or if for some odd ball reason you were paying a monthly fee to play this game someone seriously ripped you off...
Although I do agree the new patch has nerfed some char builds to the point that they are totally useless now...

If you payed monthly, you have someone to sue. If you REALLY like 1.09... Go find the 1.09 patch and play that somewhere, I do believe there is some guy that set up his own servers to play on, he might run a 1.09, if not there's always single-player/LAN games.
If you're giving up on blizz completely? Thats a harsh move. I mean this.. IS.. an old game. I mean look at Half Life, that game is freakin' old too, and then there is the CS mod.. lots of people played it up until about STEAM and then they stopped. Though I don't recall people saying they'll never buy another game by that company again. You can stop playing the game whenever you want, but to quit because of a patch? Sorry but thats just sad. (I really hope this isn't what you meant) Collide, that happens with every patch though. They would nerf some skills, buff others in every patch and people had to fix things. Same thing happened in 1.10. So once again things get changed a bit Ah well, I'm still having a blast and so is my best friend so thats all I really care about. If you're on USEast, drop me a line, my LADDER account is AnimatedArmor I have 3 others (though non ladder)

actually.. it took me 5 hours to reach lvl 71 on new ladder.. by playing public games to lvl and get through acts.. and a few solo mf runs.. not hard.. its just hard when you get to act 5 and have nothing in nightmare.

DII 1.10 Ladder teammates
I saw a few people mentioning their account names for DII and thought I'd start a new thread just for that purpose. My wife and I have reduced ourselves to only playing in private games with one or two other personal friends in order to keep from being harrassed or crashed hacked etc.
Sounds like we have a number of people here that are interested more in playing than ruining the game for others, and we'd love to play with more people in the game. However we only play hardcore!! If interested on USEast, I'm Ahnicus1 with a lvl30 ladder barb. I have higher level druid and sorcie that are non ladder. The wife has a lvl30 ladder druid. |

the game is now a pain in the ass... my lvl 96 zon stil has her wf but i lost both .08 shakos, she can barely solo raven, and i guess i never got credit for killing the ancients in hell... so i cant even go into the tp for worldstone hehe.... the game is a shitload harder now, as ive said before, it takes me now like 7 hours to hit lvl 76 as opposed to almost instantaneously when the cow lvling was up. ive found a few ladder specific items and have a few new sorcs each around lvl 82-84 one with an occy! yet since points are not maxed as well as synergies she cannot handle anything much further than act 3 hell.... thats solo... if other people are in... then shes gettin hell... so i decided to make a synergistic one element sorc and shes doin quite well... yet i dont like the fact in hell most creatures (uniques have 2 of the 4 (main) resistances) i dont know what to do.

can you say rollback
Edit: It seems not so far after the famed 1.10 was released that we see total failure of the realms For those of you that don't know happened I'll explain things to you as I understand them. Someone posted the method of duping items in ladder on the offical Diablo II forum at www.battle.net The servers then got overloaded and blizzard was forced to take action. Anyone notice Battle.net says the realms are down for Realms down for emergency maintenance

Yeah I found this all out in the games.. as after everyone was dropped from the game you'd hav +30,000 people in the chat rooms all of the sudden, and we were all tagged for at least 5 minutes. Someone perfected a duping method and posted everywhere s/he could think of. Now all the memory and b/w on battle.net disappears. I can't believe how many low lifes are willing to cheat like this. I personally think that how one plays a game shows how they will perform in life. If you're willing to go to extremes to just cheat at a GAME... god only knows what they might do in their career....

Haven't checked back in awhile since everyone seemed to be uswest! Names of hc useast'ers have been noted.
We just started laddering, and don't do the rushing and so forth, so it takes us longer to get somewhere. We're now up to lvl37. I have a non-lader sorcie and a non-ladder Werebere druid as well. Somewhere in the upper 50's. We're usually on in the eve. central time zone. |
