Offical DOA 3 site. http://www.tecmogames.com/games/doa3.asp
Yep like Laserth said this game is a fighter, it's also on the Microsoft platinum hits collection, $20 bucks is a great price for this game. The zombie games are the "House of the Dead" games. |
My personal fav's are:
Ghost Recon Series (GR and GRIT) Rainbow6 (Best shooter on platform IMHO) Max Payne Series Project Gotham Series Crimson Skies Amped 2 Tiger Woods 2004 (2003 is good, just can't customize as much) Madden '04 (Fever '04 was a let down to me) Knights of the Old Republic Splinter Cell I usually trade in old games, but none of the above games are being traded in. ##NOTE## This information is personal preference only, and not to be interpreted as a Flame war! ## |
Lasereth pretty much covered them all. Be like me a real mech head and find Steel Battalion..that game alone is worth the price of admission

What should I get (GameCube)
Ok, I've been thinking this one out for a while, but can't make up my mind. I'm looking for a rally game to use my new wheel on, and I can't make up my mind between Dakar 2 and V Rally 3. The video shop near here doesn't have either of them to rent, so I can't really try them. Any of you guys have any suggestions? Observations?

GameCube, like the subject says =D
|
Ha ha, sorry, I never look at the subjects (they don't stand out). IGN gave Dakar 2 bad reviews, and they don't have a review of V Rally 3 at all. I checked Electronic Gaming Monthly, and they don't have a review up for either of them. All I can say is rent'em first I suppose (if you can find them!). IGN does have a review on the PS2 version of Colin McRae's Rally 3 (got good reviews!). I know it's out for Gamecube, so you might want to try it on GC. Sorry that I couldn't find more!
-Lasereth |
No worries, I'm not really into CM3, CUBE didn't give it a crash-hot review. I think I'll go with V Rally, the general consensus on Dakar is that it's arcade, and I want a more realistic kinda ride.

Oh come all ye PS2 fanboys....
I apologize for the title, but Christmas is around the corner and I have been overcome with good cheer.
No, really. Anyway, I know that there are a lot of PS2 fans here on the forum. So, this is the place to ask. I am going to be getting a PS2 for Christmas (I know, I know, I've waited forever) and was wandering if anybody had any game testimonials and/or recomendations. I'm looking for some killer PS2 exclusive games. I own an X-Box and Gamecube that I play, some would say, religiously so there is a good chance that I've already played the really good cross-platformers. It doesn't matter the genre, as I like to play them all. So, run wild, run rampant and tell me of the greatness that is Sony. |
Final Fantasy X is the reason I bought my PS2, and I was not disappointed.
|
Look for gran turismo 4 soon, FFX, X2 are supposed to be damn good, but im not a big fan of that kind of RPG. Metal gear solid 2, really depends on what type of games your into..
Ofcourse GTA3/Vice |
gotta give it up for the soon to be here (well mybe not soon the great ones always get pucshed back) gran turismo 4. that game is gonna own
|
Final Fantasy X. You really can't go wrong with Final Fantasy.
Gran Turismo 4. I was a big fan of the series on the PS1. Metal Gear Solid 2. One of my favorite games on the PS1. I also look forward to the Gamecube version I keep hearing about. I really like GTA: Vice city. It is so pretty on the X-Box. A couple of really good choices. Thanks, fellows. :) Anybody else have any suggestions? |
The sticky thread at the top of this section is about this exact question. I'd check it out! This list that I posted in there along with other console information can be found in the sticky.

I used Electronic Gaming Monthly and IGN to determine this list! -Lasereth |
Y'know, I was going to post a game or two here, but I think Lasereth gave you plenty or reasons to get a PS2.
|
LOTR: TTT and ROTK are pretty good action-based games as well, although Las pretty much covered all the bases for really good games for PS2
Nevermind, Las mentioned those as well, i'll just stfu now |
new game
im looken for a new game to play. I just ordered lord of the rings fellowship of the rings and if i like it ill prolly order tt and return of the king game. Even know TT will half to be on xbox i beleive. Well im looken for good long term game. Sumtin kinda like EQ but not EQ. Beacuse i never wanna start playing that again. Has anyone tried starwars galaxy? someone told me you could not become a jedi. Sound ghey to me. Let me know if u know ) Ive seen a few SS of horizons. It looks alot like EQ. Let me know if you guys know a nother big online game that will last a while.
|
well ... EQ :) , the only drug for me, i tried all MMRPG out there (except Linage) and for me this is the only way to go ;)
for all EQ Junkies .. i got today access to the Sol Ro Tower |
hehe i played eq for 3.5 years and just quit about a month ago
|
I have about 3.5 years of EQ under my belt, ive quit playing full time and only log on once a week or so to chat until my subscription dies.
|
Anyone heard anything on Final Fantasy Online? Supposedly it's fairly good.. It's only been out 3 days or so, but I've not heard anything really negative.
|
There's a thread that recommends MMORPGs around here somewhere. Dig down a page or two and it gives like 9,000 opinions on which MMORPG is the best. I've heard good things from all of them, so it's really just personal choice. I'd go with FFXI right now, but that's just me. I'm waiting for World of Warcraft which will come out in 2010. :)
-Lasereth |
yeah wow is taken forever to come out. Hopeful its cuz they are making it good -p and not cuz they suck. Personaly i liked blizzards former games but i dont know if they can do the whole MMRPG. Yes they did on diablo but wow is going to be a little diffrent i hope.
|
I'm just waiting to see how EQ 2 is when it finally makes it to the shelves. I'm sitting on Horizons right now as a settling point until then.
|
I just got done playing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. I played it for pc, which I would not recommend to anybody here. The amount of frustration connected with using a WASD setup and trying to do the moves and time them right is just too damn hard for the game to be anywhere near as enjoyable as it would be on a console. There's just something about having a form-fitting controller in your hands, and being able to use a pressure-sensitive analog stick for movement that just makes things incredibly easier. The game is pretty damn fun, but the frustration just makes this game not worth it at all on pc, better to go with one of the console versions.

Game selection
If you're looking for a good multiplayer game, I'd definitely go with Battlefield 1942. It's got good gameplay, and the ability to mod has really made it open up, check out moddb.com for what's being worked on for mods for it, and for other games your interested in.

Looking for a new PC Game: Need Advice
Heya everyone... Basically, I am looking for computer game, most likely something with excellent online play, to consume some of my time... any suggestions would be much appreciated.
I am not really privy to a specific game type, throw any ideas you want out there, with a synopsis, if you don't mind- Thanks a ton! |
Warcraft 3 with expansion is my favorite game. I can't go a day without playing a game online.
Also Battlefield 1942 with expansions and mods (FPS) Diablo 2 with expansion (action/RPG) all of these multiplayer games will fill many hours of your time and have you addicted fast. also, Enemy Territory is a fun team based FPS and is free to download...so you must get it. |
Can try and download America's Army if you're into FPS stuff...It's free and keeps me entertained from time to time.
|
I have to put up another suggestion for Battlefield 1942. Try the Desert Combat mod -- I haven't stopped playing it since I found it.
-Lasereth |
If you want a mmorpg, check out the thread(s) on Dark Age of Camelot.
|
you could try Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. It's online only and FREE.....
|
The lovely Amelia and I have a pc and she liked games like
American McGee's Alice Asylum the Douglas Adams game..... can't remember the title...... Myst Me I like Madden Yahoo fantasy baseball and have found a new cool fantasy/sim baseball game online for free at simdynasty. It's cool you play a full season and have the option to buy a team and go on. It's addictive for me I love baseball, but on the single seasons if you start out badly even with 162 game schedule you don't recover well. Of course like Yahoo depends on if you get into an active leage with trades and so forth. I also like RISK, plop in Ultimate RISK and I'm set for the next few hours. |

That would be the one. Out os all those and some of her others, I felt Alice and Asylum were the best. I even enjoyed playing Alice.
Are there any online games like RISK available? |
A great title that might go under the radar of the average TFP'er is Metriod: Zero Mission, newly released for the GBA.
A lot of us grew up with the Metroid games back when console and PC styles were truly apples and oranges. Metroid basically blew the lid off the explorable, continuous world in an action game. Super Metroid was quite a worthy follow-up. The other games in the series have been adequate, but not nearly as great. Zero Mission is the original, completely re-done and with a lot more content. A must-buy for people who own GBAs. My only warning would be that if you're skilled at the Metroid-style game, it will seem both short and easy. Still a wonderful game, though. Best Metroid yet. |
I have call of duty, it's the best war game ever. My only complaint is that they didn't put any vehicles that you can use, and Unreal Tournament 2004 will be coming out soon enough and you can use vehicles in that if you like that game.
