What's the longest you've stayed up playing a video game?
 

Mine would have to be about 10 hours straight playin GTA3 Vice City when it first came out, how about you guys?

dunno exactly. but i pulled an allnighter once with my friend playing streetfighter2 for the snes.

Uh, I stayed up for 12 hours <8pm-8am> playing Knights Of the Old Republic. :)

I think I've played Counterstrike or Quake2 for 3-5 hours straight at one point. Talk about finger cramps.

3-5 hours for cs? Me and my clan went to a 24hour lan, which I crashed out after ~18-20 hours.. It was fun, but there were enough nerds to make me ashamed of myself.

48 hours after I bought the new Super Mario Bros 3 game for GBA.

Plenty have games have taken days at a time for me. Quake 1-3 multiplayer, Civilization 3, and Diablo II come to mind.

I've not really stayed up a long time playing a videogame, but I've played them a good percentage of a time period easily. When I played EQ a couple of years ago I would literally sleep 5 hours a night and play EQ 19 hours per day. That game is too damn addicting. Not very fun, either.

Can't beat that, but when I was sick from school I played SimCity every waking minute for 4 days ... although the medication kept knocking me out every couple of hours.

I have also done the 12 hour GTA:VC stretch and Alpha Centauri took my from 8 PM through to 6 AM a time or two.

A very long time ago, when Final Fantasy One(!) first came out for the NES, my buddy and I started playing it Saturday evening, and we beat it JUST in time to get to work at noon on Sunday. :)

Suikoden 1, 21 hours

Recently pulled a 10 hour stretch of NCAA Football 2004, damn that game is addictive. "Just one more game, it's a ranked game and I'm hot." "Wow, that was good, oh, here's a creampuff, I can beat them real quick." "Gotta play this one, it's the big game." "Bowl is just one more away, better finish the season off." "The bowl can't take that long." "Might as well do recruiting now." rinse, repeat.

6am for my first game of Counter Strike. It was funny because I knew i had to work at the college dining hall in the morning and I was on my last warning before getting fired. Well, the sun was coming up and I just said "fuck it" and unplugged my phone so they wouldn't disturb me at least. Next day when I was in the same dining hall for dinner I asked one of the student managers if I got canned and he said yep. :)

I can't really tell you about any specific time because it happens so often, but I've pulled many all nighters for various games. Medal of Honor, Morrowind, Halo, GTA3, Driver 2.

Driver 2 was pure hilarity. The game was so buggy. Loved it. Late at night you are all punchy and playing some horrible game like that, and all the sudden you launch a cop car a mile into the air after tapping its hood while it was stuck on its side.

I played Morrowind every waking hour for 2 months straight. I literally did nothing but sleep, eat, empty my waste, and let the dog out besides playing.

i´d say around 5 hours playing Vice City is my limit.
i really can´t stay playing a game for longer than that.
gives me headaches.

Those games are amazing. I played the first one three times through. I'm stuck at the end boss on Suikoden 2 and my characters aren't high enough level to beat it. :( You can't leave the dungeon and level-up, either. Blah. I want to beat it so I can play Suikoden 3.

every time i would play it, it would be 5 in the afternoon....
then it was 12 noon LOL


then DiabloII wow about 72 hours there... till my wife unpluged the pc...

24hrs playing FF III (VI) when it debuted on SNES, good times

100+ hours of play time in Knight of the old republic within 5.5 days. God I love that game, cant wait for it to come to the PC so I can play it again (I rented an xbox to play it the first time)

My current record is a 36 hour stint of a combination of Star Craft: Brood Wars, Counter-Strike, and Quake3. Lets hear it for 4 foot snow storms and being trapped in your apartment at college!

I came close this last week with 46 hours of Knights of the old Republic in 2.5 days. That was just numbing, but I didn't really do it straight through. Actually passed out on my couch at one point.

Well I had many a night playing X-COM UFO Defense (greatest game ever), casually looking at my watch to see what time it was, and noticing the sun rising through the window. All-nighters are a sign of a Truly Great Game.

That, and lan parties.

I'm not really sure, but with all my gaming, I'm positive I've pulled at least a 12 hour streak before.

I think in 94 or 95, a group of friends and I played hockey on Sega for 2 days straight, so 48+ hours for me. It was when the 4 person adapter just came out, and we were playing tournament style, and just never got tired of playing.

LAN parties aside, 12 hrs playing Phantasy Star Online, that game is so addictive...

Also Diablo 2 and Golden Eye have taken significant amounts of my life away from me.

I think it's supposed to be almost impossible to stay up for this long without sleep, nevertheless after constant use of your brain (so not including something like meditation). I call you a bluff or an exaggerator! ;)

I can't remember how many hours total I've played for straight, however when I was binging on Diablo 2 I would play from ~2:30pm (after school on friday) until at least 5am with only a pizza break which was usually eaten while I was playing :D Then I'd sleep until noon and start again for as long as possible. So I was pushin solid 12.5 hour sessions during those days. Not bad, never really thought about how much time I was playing!

80 hours of Diablo 2 when Lord of destruction came out.. It hurt.. even with several half an hour naps, I dont think my brain, lungs or liver will ever be the same. We did however write the rules of staying up.. I will post them some time.

I didn't really want to keep track how much I used to play Everquest, but lets just say it was many long nights followed by long days. Damn that game.

Back in the days of hell lvls in everquest before they took them out i got from lvl 43-46v (45 being the worst hell lvl pre 51+'s) I played from friday morning all the way through to around 11:00 pm on saturday, then passed out.

16 hours straight. I skipped school "Mom, I have a migraine" to play Fallout 2.

Hmm longest single game...about 4 hours against 7 or some odd number of comps on Warcraft II. Longest marathon...12 or so hours.

I played Everquest for 30 hours straight once. There were about 3 breaks where I had a smoke, but I kept the game on...

talk about addicting.

Fuck. Vexthal shards destroyed my sense of being. Damn EQ....
