Well if his time slowed down i would imagine that you would see him as moving a lot faster than normal.

Great game in my opinion. Didn't ever see a grenade launcher in this one though... I was hoping that it would make a comeback in MP2. The ending was kinda cheesy again, but it didn't ruin the game for me. I'll put it down for a couple of weeks and then try one of the harder levels.

i started playing it yesterday and i think it's amazing so far. Don't know how long it is, but i have spent quite a bit of time messing around with the physics system of the game. It's amazing, so real, is this what they're gonna use or are using in half life 2?
THe level of interactivity is also very high, which makes exploring the environments so much fun. Anyway, this game is gonna have great mod capacity, hopefully lots of other games spawn off this. Good stuff. |

I loved this game, so much fun. Kind of short, but the quality made up for it and anyways I dont see how they could have made it any longer without ruining the story, plus the other modes as well. I also here there an alternate ending if you beat it on the hardest difficulty setting. The mod's for this could be great too!

I loved it. It was short, and there isnt too much replay value to it, but I love games with a great story, and hell, it was fun too.

I got it today but won't play it properly until I finish my backlog of games however I gave it a little go and: shit, freaking cool, it's incredibly hard-boiled and stylised yet keeping the plot in primary position, can't wait to play it properly!

I liked the game... went looking for this page with the intentions of posting mona's naked ass. Someone already had her full frontal... somehow I wasn't surprised =P

I thought MP2 ROCKED compared to the first one. They took everything cool from MP1, added more of it, took everything lame out and added more cool stuff (the nightmare scenes in particular are WAY better in 2 than 1), and the different endings made it all worth playing the game through 3 times. I got my money's worth.

The clean environment is awesome...object physics are greatly improved and the character envolvment to his suroundings is cool. I think they have over dramatized the storyline tho...it just got cheezy....the first story was genuine and gave max payne an honorable character...not so sure about this one.

I can't tell you how much I love both Max Payne's. Yes, they are short, but still worth every penny. Not alot of difference from Max Payne 1 to Max Payne 2, but I'm actually very happy about that. The first was so good, why fool with it? I can only hope Max Payne 2 uses the same gameplay with only a different story.

I played mp2 back in early november, a really good game, especially the continuation of story line, improved graphics, improved gameplay, improved engine, all around a way better experience than Max Payne

I played MP2 a while back, and enjoyed it immensly. After I finished though, I got bored.
I decided to play through most of the game in the Captin Baseball Boy/Vince skin, using only Melee (I.E His Bat). Of course.. I had to do it in God Mode.. but it was interesting.

I never played the orginal Max Payne, but have played the second. It was a pretty decent game. The rag doll physics are the best it has to offer. I do not see what the importance of bullet time is. I keep beign told you have to use it to beat the gem, but was able to finish it easily without ever using it. I do admit though that when using it while playing around in the game it does make a nice special effect.

I thought it kind of sucked. I was bored to tears through the (what scientists have estimated) 5 billion cutscenes. Plus the gameplay wasn't that great either.
I give it 3 stars out of 5. 1 for effort and 2 for looking pretty.

Don't waste your money(or time to dl it).
This game was not as good as I hoped it to be. Besides the fact that it was too short, the storyline was kinda confusing. I never really knew what exactly was going on other than people were wanting to kill Max for hanging with Mona. It was EXTREMELY easy to beat, and shooting hundreds of people and the slow-time deal became boring and monotonous after a few hours. True, the sequal was better than the first, but it falls into the same trap at the end. By that, I mean that you spend all that time making your way through the game, only to be let-down again by another horrible and insanely easy ending. |

I agree that it was a short game. But the storyline was pretty amazing. I love a good storyline in a game. It makes it so much more enjoyable to play and totally catches my attention.
Gameplay was very similar to Max Payne 1, so there wasn't much of a learning curve to it. Didn't expect much change in the gameplay though. The graphics and sounds were very good as well. I played it on a friend's computer which he just got. Close to top of the line and it looks amazing when running perfectly with all details turned on. A great game. I think there is another sequel coming out? Seems like the ending perfectly set it up for one. So hopefully there is one. Definately looking forward to it. |

As for MP, of course they never will have it. But I think it could be done. Lets think of it this way: Five players. Two of you are in bullet time mode, so you are seeing three other players in slo-mo. The fourth player you will see in real time, because he is in bullet-time himself. If his bullet time period ends, you will watch him go to slow motion with the other players. If you are not in bullet time mode, you will simply watch someone begin moving much faster. This seems very similar to the speed mode you could get from Jedi Outcast. I like the game. It doesn't seem to be as much of a nail biter as the previous game, plus the bullet time mode seems to last forever, which makes it a little easy. I retry extra difficult scenes a few times to see if I can save a painkiller or two. Of course, the game is gorgeous. On the ATI 9800Pro it is just amazing to watch. Even the special effects smoke in the funhouse look like "special effects". Amazing. I've grabbed quite a few screenshots since everything is rendered in-game. The game seems more cinematic than the previous game. More cool camera angles, more cool scene renditions. The story seems rushed. I have heard the game ends too soon, and I am really wondering why they didn't take the time to flesh out the story a bit more. I suppose it has to do with thumbing their noses at people like Id who seem to have trouble releasing products: they seemed to have no trouble getting the code out on time. I would hope the next story takes a bit more time to develop, though. Go get it if you even remotely liked the first one. Last edited by jujueye; 03-01-2004 at 05:36 PM.. |

The only way I'll be convinced to play MP2 over and over again is when the Kung Fu mod comes out for it. That shit is the DC of Max Payne.

Yep. I beat the first Max Payne twice, then when the Kung-Fu mod came out, it made me play through it four more times. The amount of badass stuff you can do in those mods are incredible.
