Max Payne 2 Impressions
 

I'm on the third level now. So far, the game is just more of the same, though admittedly much prettier. The environment is a bit more inteactive (read: pushable, destroyable), but otherwise, not much in the way of new stuff.

So far, B+.

Hehe, played it a little more. The ragdoll system kicks ASS when you can actually see it in action. To anyone who has it already, try this: with any rifle, dive and fire upwards into a guy and keep firing long after you know you've killed him. He just keeps flying and it looks way neat :D

The construction yard level was way neat.

I raise my grade to an A-; it's a very worthy sequel.

I was looking at the console release dates. I guess I forgot the PC release was two months before :(

im debating about installing and replaying the first max payne before i start on the second...

does the 2nd part have to do anything with the first part cause i never beat the first part i stayed int he 2nd level :(.so im wondering if i should move to the 2nd part or what?

IGN gave Max Payne 2 a 9.4! Holy shit. I never played the first one, but I might have to get this one. That's one hell of a high score.

Im gonna get it in a few days. I downloaded a few clips of the gameplay on it. It looks damn good.

To those who haven't played the first one: you don't really need to, there's a "Previously" button that basically sums up the entire story of the first one in case you've forgotten.

As for system reqs: I'm running this on a midrange system, Athlon XP 2000+ with a Radeon 7000, 512 SDRAM, and it ran beautifully at 800x600.

Harder than the first, too short... But a great game nonetheless.

I loved the first one can't wait to play 2!!!

This cheat is pretty cool, it lets you use any model in the game plus lets you play as nekkid Mona w00t!

HOW TO GET MONA NAKED: A TUTORIAL BY DEFLUX/BobbyM

1) Make a shortcut to the game's exe file.
2) Change the Target field to this:
"C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Max Payne 2\MaxPayne2.exe" -developerkeys -screenshot
3) Start a new game or load one you have saved.
4) Use PAGE UP/PAGE DOWN to scroll through models. You will get Nude Mona
quicker if you use PAGE UP.
5) Pressing F3 will allow you to move the camera around freely. Press F3 again
to set the camera and regain control of your character.
6) Pressing F10 will make a screen shot in your Max Payne 2 directory.

Wench! YAR, a good thing to have after a day of killing.

Is that naked model and skin in the game during a sex scene or something? Or was it just there waiting for some loser geek to find and use? I mean no offense of course, when I get the game the first thing I'll be doing is playing with a naked Mona.

I beat it already. Great stuff.

I hear there is a second ending if you beat it on Dead on Arrival mode. I'm working to get that now.

Someone mentioned the shower scene but there's also a scene in the first trippy dream sequence where you see Mona in a body bag. If you notice when cycling through the models, there are two nude Mona models. One for the shower, one for the morgue.

The game is, IMHO, a good candidate for Game of The Year. The story was still over the top noir stuff, but its much better this time. THe gameplay is suitable awesome, and I'm looking forward to some cool mods for it. All in all, I recommend this game highly...

Beat the game, and am trying to enjoy it a second time around. It was short, but good. Although it didn't offer much new aside from the original Max Payne. It felt very... familiar.

Dead Man Walking is nice, though. Maybe we can get a thread up here to post or records and stuff ;)

I just started playing it and i'm about 2 hours in. I like it so far. The new "bullet time" (hourglass turns yellow) is a good addition since the original game, in my opinion.

Don't ask me why, but I have a feeling that you haven't played this game. I also have a feeling that you have never even read a review for this game and that your saying this because you didn't like the first game. Just a hunch;) .

I just beat it. I thought the ending "boss" kinda deal was weak, but otherwise the humor and art that went into it made it defintely worthwhile.

does it have multiplayer?
