Well I'll keep this old thread alive...
I've played KOTOR through as both a light and dark side character. The plots are definetly different enough to make it worth replay. I love this game. Based on the single player mode it may be even better that Halo. The thing that makes Halo a better buy overall, IMO, is the awesome multiplayer features. Yes, I know that Halo is a FPS and KOTOR is a RPG, I compare the two only because they both kick major ass. I like KOTOR more than the GTA series, and that's saying something.

This game is awsome played through as light side. Gonna try it as a dark side. Kotor 2 should be awsome just not made by the same people but I am confident they will do a good job. Who would want to mess this up.

I have played it from the dark and light side now. Both very fun, and just enough variation to make it interesting.
Is it just me, or did anyone else feel like a complete ass when playing the dark side. Especially when I made Zaalbar kill Mission. Arghhh..

I actually avoided levelling up on Taris, and got to Dantooine as a level 2. By the time I learned the force and all, I was a level 6 with 6+ force abilities. NICE.. I should be able to max out most of the force powers I want now.

it depends on your build
if you're going some sorta consular or build which relys on force powers, by all means save them but i found my 7/13 scout/sentinal to be far more efficient than my 2/18 scout/guardian =/ mainly because of the implants and i was so used to the immunity to mind-effects, man that sucked getting disabled for 20 seconds in the battle against darth bandon >_< i know there is a killer build, which i might try out next which is the 7/13 scoundrel/guardian, you need lvl7 scoundrel to get all the sneak attack bonuses, which are applied everytime you force jump, stun an enemy, attack from behind etc |

Yeah, I was doing it 3rd time through so I decided I wanted to have a consular (I think that is the force power person) with almost every power. My character is pretty weak right now, but I figure I should be set later in the game. HOWEVER, the final fight is going to be a beotch w/ out good sword skills. I am going to have to take stims like a junkie.

2nd time around (dark side) I had that same power he did to suck the Jedi's life, so I would just use the Jedi to recharge myself. My buddy used his brain first time around (Light) and used throw lightsaber to bust the Jedi up. I am worried though being just force sensitive.. I am having issues with weakness in my Lightsaber fighting, missing, not having enough power. I am just going to have to pop those Battle Stimulants, Knight Speed, and use the right combo of Crystals. But, I can light some Kilraith UP with my new found force powers!

yup i faced off against him so many times as well
used at least 30 of those medium rep kits and i think i threw some nades at him every once in a while apparently with light side consular its ridiculously easy master valor, master speed, master armour i think it was combination is supposed to work well |

I just got this KOTOR for the PC last week and man! I love this game. I think the story line so far is great. Heck I am enjoying the story in KOTOR as much as the movies...
I also like the fact that it is set 4000 years before the movie timeline so that there are no stupid cameos by characters from the movies... DB |
