Knights of the Old Republic

Anyone playing this game for X-box?

I have to say it's one of the most amazing video games I've ever played.

It has tremendous replay value as well as a bonus.

For anyone playing, what kind of character are you playing? I'm playing a Dark Jedi *evilgrin*

I've been playing the hell out of it for the past few days and I'm already on what I believe to be the last area (the Star Forge). I'm playing as a completely evil Dark Jedi as well, but I plan on playing through multiple times to try a completely light side path and then play through and make the decisions I'd personally make.

I have to agree, definetly one of the most impressive games I have ever played. I'd rank this as being a "must have" game for any XBox owner.

I'm thinking about going to get an xbox just for this game. I would also get Halo but that will be on PC soon enough. I just have to hold out until KOTOR is on PC also.

I rented it the other day, and I'm returning it tonight. For the hours that I played, I just couldn't get into it. The graphics were really amazing, and I'm lots of people like it, but like Everquest it's not my cup of tea I guess.

Marrek, how long have you been playing to get towards the end? I'm 8 hours in and just made it to Dantoonie (sp). This is the first RPG that I've shown an interest in in a long time. It seems that I get started and an hour later I quit and never start it back up.

All I can say is that the games great. I'm not really impressed with the graphics. They're OK but not great. The sound and voice acting are perfect. I would recommend this game to just about anybody...

I just beat the game, and holy crap. This game has one of the most engaging story lines i have ever seen.

I wonder if there is a different ending for dark side.

The sequel to Outcast comes out in a few months, its called Jedi Academy. I'm on the Beta but haven't been able to start playing yet, too busy, but I can't bloody wait.

The game is amazing. It plays a lot like neverwinter nights but with a kickass star wars atmosphere.

I've been playing it non-stop since I rented it from blockbuster.

LucasArts’ 'Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic', a new role-playing game for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, has flown off store shelves at light speed in its first two weeks of availability, selling more than 270,000 units. The game, which debuted July 16, set a new record for Xbox game sales, selling through its initial allocation in its first four days of release.

In addition to record sales, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has received unprecedented critical acclaim. According to GameRankings.com, the game’s reviews have thus far averaged 94.8%, making it the 16th best-rated game of all time, the second best game on Xbox to date, and the highest-rated RPG of all time across all platforms.

“LucasArts is extremely happy that fans and media have reacted in such an overwhelmingly positive way to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic,” says Simon Jeffery, president of LucasArts. “The game clearly has conquered the North American market and we’re certain it will perform just as well when it launches in overseas territories in the next few weeks.”

“Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is the first role-playing game for the Xbox platform to be connected with such a huge and successful license and we’re certain it will drive a great deal of volume going through the holiday season,” says Robbie Bach, senior vice president home and chief Xbox officer. “The game is off to the fastest start of any Xbox title.”

“Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is already the best selling Xbox title of the year,” says Pete Roithmayr, vice president of merchandising/video games at EB Games. “The game has exceeded every expectation we’ve had and we’re very confident the strong sales trend will continue. It is certain to be one of the best selling Xbox games in the platform’s history. Simply put, LucasArts has produced another great game and it is obvious that Xbox owners know it!”

“We’re truly honored by the overwhelmingly positive response to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic from fans and press in the Xbox community, and we’re working very hard on the PC version of the game to bring a high quality experience to the millions of fans of previous BioWare PC RPGs,” says Dr. Ray Muzyka, joint chief executive officer of BioWare and co-executive producer of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

“We’re extremely pleased with the enthusiastic fan reaction to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic,” says Dr. Greg Zeschuk, joint chief executive officer of BioWare and co-executive producer of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. “It validates both BioWare’s commitment to quality and the enormous amount of hard work invested by the passionate and dedicated development team.”

Developed by BioWare, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic features an original story set some 4,000 years prior to the timeframe of the Star Wars films in an era dominated by an epic conflict between the Jedi and the evil Sith.
Damn X-Box, definately want this one on PC!!!

The thing is buggier than a bait shop - I rented it, tried it out, and now I'm not sure if I want to play it on the Box or wait for the PC version (if it ever comes out).

It was rushed out the door for sure, but it's still a great game.

Even though I get sick of seeing the same four people all over the galaxy.

Anybody have any tips?

I've gotten all the pieces of the star map except for one. The "sand people" are killing me every time I go out into the desert. I can't seem to get past that. My guys are level 13 and pretty tough cuz all the previous battles have been easy. Who should I take with me and how do I beat these guys?

The right kind of Grenade can make any fight trivial in that game.

i wanted to buy this game back when it was still slated for a late febuary release, get it for a b-day gift and all. back then i still had time cause i didn't care to do any of my school work. now, i've got other hobbies i want to do, and have 18 credits going in the fall (classes start in like 3 weeks). i just don't think i have time to play this game now, and at least that it's not worth the $50 to buy until i can. i am so pissed at them for constantly pushing it back now. arg!

Aparently I was hiding under a rock or something, but I just finished this game on XBOX. Fucking amazing. Played the light side all the way thru, took about 30 hours. I've been house-sitting so I had the time on my hands. No doubt that this is the best game I've played this year. Way addicting. I'm about to play again on the dark side to check out the differences. Yay!
