so has anyone beat all the campaigns on expert yet?
I've beaten them all on advance, but fail every time on expert. This is most likely due to the fact that i only play with one other human. The bots are too stupid to be much help in expert mode

Yeah we try Expert sometimes with 2 of us and it never works out. 3 is way more likely but with 4 it's doable without too much trouble.

I think I've finally decided between a PS3 and a 360

I usually try to save the bots and it gets me killed which ruins everything. I guess i should try to be more of a jerk and see if we can get through it.

I think that if you are going to do it with two people and two bots, you're biggest problem will come from the finales. I think they are doable, but nearly impossible with the tanks being the main problem. You're best bet would probably be to do the closet defense and run away when the tank comes. When I say run away, I mean set him on fire, turn around, and run as fast as you can. During the finales, you probably won't want to try and save the bots unless it's right at the finish of a wave of zombies just before the tank comes.

I am happy to say that tonight I beat Dead Air with my friends on Expert. We got to the finale of No Mercy on Expert, but two of them gave after a few attempts, damn Tank would destroy us. SO CLOSE! I hate No Mercy -_-
I'm definitely going to try the other two campaigns on expert, No Mercy is the hardest. I'm a little ticked because we beat it on expert, and when you beat your first campaign on expert, it is an achievement, and a portion of another achievement. The game didn't acknowledge those achievements. |

Successfully completed Blood Harvest on expert tonight.
I'm so tired of these game glitches though. -server lobby's settings changed upon game load (ie - set up a versus game, end up playing campaign on hard? or vice versa) We set up an easy game today, it was on normal instead. -big achievement glitches: today I ran through death toll with three friends, looking to get the no barfing on by boomers achievement. one of them got barfed on halfway through, left, and came back a second later. we beat it, and THEY were the one to get the achievement! -Hunter pouncing glitch: only noticed this since the last update: if you're meleeing, you shouldn't get pounced on, but you can now. its beyond frustrating on expert. And makes no sense. |

Left 4 Dead on Steam $25 this weekend!
Thanks for talking up this game. I've been looking into buying it after hearing all your comments. This weekend, the game is only $25. I have to see if my DELL laptop can handle it (2 gig Intel CPU, 3 gig RAM, I'm not sure about the graphics card). I'm working on being up for 12 hours and walking all over god's creation today, so I will most more later, but I wanted to make sure that you knew about the 50% discount. I just saved you $25 on the game, would you consider donating $5 to the TFP? Last edited by Randerolf; 02-14-2009 at 06:13 AM.. |

Some of those achievements are TERRIBLE . . . Ha.
Did you get any special prize/fanfare when you completed them all? Or just the self-satisfaction of a job well done? And when the hell are we going to get some new content?!?!

Oh, man. I totally have to get back into this game. I only have a handful of achievements.
Don't even ask me about my TF2 achievements.... ...I'm such an underachiever.

Works best with approaching her from behind, with an autoshotty, lights off, and getting her in the head.

I have the game for both pc and 360, I'm insane like that.
I can't play the 360 version well, their controller is chunky and my reflexes are poor with it. Especially shooting. stupid trigger. And to answer your question Gabby: its just the satisfaction of having them all completed. You get nothing when you get all achievements. But because I'm done them, I mess around on the altered servers, lots of fun. And the new content is expected in April. But it doesn't look that impressive. No new campaigns, just a timed survival add-on where you get the infinite horde control, and see how long you last. Not my thing. And they're recycling all the old maps. There's only one new one for survival: The Lighthouse. I am looking forward to the map-creator though. It'll be sweet to create maps/campaigns |

Man, those new "tweaks" are tough to deal with, especially the melee thing. That 1 second or less wait feels like hours when 15 zombies are ripping off your flesh.

It looks like we can expect DLC sometime tomorrow (new versus maps, new Survival game mode) and the SDK soon to follow... this info is coming from Valve though, so I'm making sure not to get my hopes up.

This game looks ridiculously fun, but a game with no single player component is half a game in my view, and I can't justify spending $50 on that.
Hopefully it'll go back on sale soon.
