It took me a second to figure out this was the most anticipated PC games only.

Anyway, Steve my have left Starcraft 2 off his list, but Charles billed it at #5 on his. Personally, I'm amazed at Alan Wake on both lists. I thought it was being developed for the 360 with an unmentioned PC port later.

All and all I'd agreed both are good lists, I'd just number a few things differently.

My personal big four. The rest of the games aren't really on my radar.

#1 Fallout 3 (It's a sequel to one my favorite PC RPG series. 'nuff said)
#2 Starcraft II ( It's Starcraft)
#3 Rise of the Argonauts (I'm a sucker for mythology)
#4 Far Cry 2 (the previews got me)

well in all seriousness, SC2 hasn't even been announced with any sort of projected released date. Blizzard is a bunch of ass munchkins and simply stick to the "when it's done" mantra.

just noticed that there was a 2nd page and yeah, there is SC2 on that list.

yay, my list would be

#1 Fallout 3
#2 Starcraft 2
#3 Spore
#4 Some game I don't know about that will blow me away (crosses fingers)

I don't like enough games to justify needing 10 on my list.

I don't understand why people think that's a bad thing. Would you rather have a game rushed to release ruining something that had so much potential(look at hellgate london) or a polished game released when the developers think it is ready?

Also:

#1 SC2
#2 Spore
#3 Fallout 3
#4 Age of Conan or Warhammer

#1 Spore
#2 SC2
#3 Fallout
#4 Warhammer (though I doubt I'll ever have time for an MMO again)
#5 Spore (yes, it deserves double mentions)

oh trust me, i know that argument, the problem is, nobody likes hearing it from blizzard, WoW was a buggy pile of shit when it 1st came out, was missing AND IS STILL missing a lot of stuff they proposed as features to the game (hero classes, and sieges) it's a pve love fest now anyways.

then they scrapped SC:ghost entirely.

oh and whatever that proposed action adventure game was gonna be, tales of thrall or something.

they take for god damned EVER to come out with anything anymore.

Mark my words: Starcraft 2 won't come out until December 2009 earliest. Not 2008, but 2009.

Fallout 3 looks really cool but I've never played the first ones so I don't know what to expect.

WoW was the most stable MMO ever to launch. The only thing that happened was that they didn't anticipate as many people to get the game as did. It had very few bugs at launch. Hero classes and sieges are coming in the next expansion. LOTRO, DDO, and Hellgate: London are all MMO's that came years after WoW and still had horrendous bugs at launch. They wish they could have had as shitty of a launch as WoW did.

good, it would have sucked.

A lot of games get proposed that end up on the cutting room floor. Just because Blizzard thinks of making a game about rabbits who fly and kill elves doesn't mean that the game will come to fruition.

go get fallout. it's ugly as sin but goddamnit it makes up for it in character and storyline.

dont take it personal if I ignore your post YaWateva

I don't intend to turn this into a wow debate. Back to the subject at hand.

Also, does anyone know if Sins of a Solar Empire is actually good? Odd that it is in the top 10 most anticipated games of 2008 and it's already out.

YaWhateva, I haven't played Sins of a Solar Empire, but Metacritic has it floating at 88% so it can't be that bad.

Also, Starcraft: Ghost has not been officially killed. It's still on the back burner. At least according to Frank Pearce (co-founder of Blizzard).

1) Fallout 3
2) Warhammer (played DAoC for 3.5 years, best PvP of any MMO ever in my opinion)
3) Empire: Total War (played every previous one, best strategy in my opinion)
4) Spore (not sure, could be awesome or could suck, risky)

Okay, I'll bite. I LOVE Blizzard. I played WoW religiously from the pre-public beta through my beta test of Burning Crusade. It was NOT the most stable MMO launch. Ultima Online was far more stable at launch, as were Dark Age of Camelot and, unfortunately, PlanetSide. WoW had massive server population issues for several months after launch. Even servers that were below the hard cap (yes, there was a hard cap even in the beginning) had stability issues. And seriously... LOTRO and DDO? It wasn't even a matter of stability as much as utter suckage. *shrug*

Yes, Hero classes ARE coming (in theory) with the next ExPack... or rather A HERO CLASS is. We shall see how it works.

Can't really say I'm looking forward to much for the PC other than SC2 and possibly Warhammer Online.

My personal list of anticipated games for this year are:

MGS4 (I plan on getting the MGS4 bundle with DualShock 3)
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Fallout 3 (I'll get it for 360)
Gears of War 2
Ninja Gaiden 2
GTA4 (100 hours of gameplay? Yes please.)
Rainbow 6 Vegas 2
Ikaruga for XBLA
Fable 2
Condemned 2
Ninja Gaiden DS

Can't think of any others atm, but I'm sure there are a few I'm forgetting.

Star Ocean 2 for the PSP (one of my all time faves for the PSX that got stolen and I haven't been able to find another copy)
Star Ocean IV (I'm doubting 2008 though.
Resident Evil 5 (probably not 2008)
MGS4
Ninja Gaiden 2
Fable 2
Dragon Quest IX
Final Fantasy Tactics A2
Sonic Chronicles: the dark brotherhood.

No, it's still TBD. I'm thinking Q3-4 of 2009 though. Also, wtf is up with these people spamming that dealstudio site. I've seen some people do it on some other forums that I read.
