(He's 3, he doesn't understand pirates yet. I won't be talking like a pirate to him.)

Touché! (there be French pirates, oui!). I'll remember that.

I be polishing me best peg leg and pirate-lingo up fer this worthy holiday.

(gees, writing in pirate is harder than I'd have thought. I'll have to use aberkok's post as a primer to get my mad pirate-talk skillz up!)

And mayhap this feisty lass will be selling your sweet self the to highest bidder on the block!
Come on me lassies (and some laddies!), I start the bidding for this ill-gotten booty at a mere 20 gold doubloons--who'll give me 20?

20 doubloons is a rare fine price for a strong back...mayhap I'll put in a bid meself...*mischievious glint in eye--the good eye*

And I'll not be swabbin' poop decks, not fer the likes of anyone (!).
"Wench", eh?

Two pirates meet for the first time in ages, and Pirate Jim is blown over by Pirate John's new wooden leg, hook hand and eye-patch.

Jim says "Arrrrr, how did you be gettin all o them wounds John Lad?"

"Urghhhh! I gotten my leg snapped off by the biggest shark ye ever did see, arrrrr"

"And yer hand?"

"Well..... That was blowed orf by Admiral Cooper of her majesty's Royal Navy in an ill advised attempt by Cap'n Kidd to take over a ship of the line outside Kingstown"

"Arrrrrr - that be bad indeed, Johnny... and what about your eye?"

"That was a seagull - I looked up at the crows-nest to see why Roger the cabin boy was making such a racket, and the damned bird let one go RIGHT into my eye"

"But still - how'd that cost you an eye?"

"Arrrr - well - you see - erm - it was only the day after I'd ad the hook fitted, and I still wasn't used to it......"

You know... you wouldn't have to swab the poop deck if everyone just did their business over the edge of the ship...

Excuse me while I go pillage the Fark thread....

The Pirate Name Generator
With my username, I'm Cap'n Enrico Buttscar. Ouch. My realname comes out to Reeking Brody Scarr.

And, two translators for those of us who can't speak Pirate. One & Two. Er, that is, I meant to say "An', two translators fer them o' us who canna speak Swashbuckler".

(the first one seems to do a better job than the second)

Ohhh, with me username you can call me High-Pitched Haley.
With the name me mother gave me, you can refer to me as Pirate Yvette the Staggering Drunk.

Methinks I like the second one best, as naught but a drop o' the rum gets me all giggly and girly, slobbery wench-like! (Mm, nice imagery that one. sure.)

Ahoy, avast and belay, ye scurvy landlubbers. This be Pirate Quinn the Pale when sailing the TFP coast. I were shanghaied on a Barbary coaster years ago, and the crew dubbed me "Fancypants" Bart Barbossa acoss I would hammer any crew's wandering hand with a belaying pin afore it got above my knee.

I found me a wench to share the salty spray with, and now to the cabin with my rum and my booty.

Arrrr
