Would you like to make a deal?

If the 1970s could be classified by a TV genre then surely it must have been game shows.
The game show with it's suave, handsome host filled many hours for women all over America.
You could flip on the tube and do your housework or your nails, while some lucky
contestant won a matching Maytag washer and dryer or two rooms of wall-to-wall carpet.
Here are some trivia questions in the style of the game shows themselves, to see what you can remember.

  1. Name the 1970s game show which ended with a contestant trying a set of keys in one of 5 new cars to see if it started (she got the car if it started).
  2. Name either of the two games In which people were reunited.
  3. Which game show was played like the Memory board game and players had to solve a word clue puzzle?
  4. Which was Bob Barker's first game show as host?
  5. Name the two game shows in which guests would lie to celebrities.
  6. Name the African American comedian who frequently guest starred on Match Game and To Tell the Truth.
  7. Name of the two women who were frequent guests on To Tell the Truth.
  8. Which game show offered contestants the famous choice of prizes behind 'Door number one, Door number two or Door number three?
  9. Name the game show in which contestants chose cards (like black jack or 21).
  10. In which game show did celebrities 'agree or disagree'?
  11. Which game show featured a slot machine?
  12. Which game show featured Vanna White as hostess?
  13. Name the game show in which contestants might win a 'Zonk'.
  14. Which game show used animals in costume?
  15. Name the game show in which celebrities sat in boxes tic-tac-toe fashion.
  16. Which celebrity sat in the middle for most Hollywood Squares games?
  17. On which game show did audience members dress in costumes?
  18. Name Let's Make a Deal's first hostess.
  19. Which game show offered contestants a choice of two showcases?
  20. On which game show were women in the audience often asked to trade something in their purse for money?
  21. Name the host of Match Game.
  22. In which game show could you buy prizes?
  23. Name the show which featured silly made up characters like 'Old Lady Pervis' and fictious places like Nerdo Crombezia.
  24. Which game show host asked contestants to grab money out of a fish bowl?
  25. Name the producing duo of several well known game shows: (hint) 'This has been a Mark____________, Bill___________ production.'
  26. Name the catalog company that many prizes came from.
  27. Name the game show that featured Bob Eubanks as host.
  28. In which game did contestants spin a large vertical wheel, trying to get as close to $1.00 without going over?
  29. Name a frequent guest star on Password who later married the show's host.
  30. Name the original host of Family Feud.
  31. Name one of two famous guest comedians on Match Game.
  32. Name the host of To Tell the Truth for most of the 1970s (evening version) who had to leave the show because of throat cancer.
  33. Name the frequent To Tell the Truth panelist who took that host's place temporarily (he also advertised Doane's Pills).
  34. Name the handsome young host of the original $10,000 pyramid.
  35. Name the host of The Dating Game from 1965 until the 1980s ( he always wore enormous glasses, sometimes tinted)
