It means nothing really. Interbrew owns Labatts - does your 50 or Blue taste any different? Of course not.
I personally drink Keith's but I could care less if it is owned by a wee Scotsman in Nova Scotia or a Japanese conglomerate.

I drink Unibrew's tasty beverages and rotate in whatever import or microbrew piques my curiosity...
Currently my fridge is stocked with: 12 Maudit 12 Touborg 12 Red Cap (stubbies... yay!) All icy cold and waiting for me to consume... I haven't made a practice of drinking Molson or Labbat's (except for their licensed brews like Corona) in an age... unless my Father in law offers me a beer... then there is a good chance I'll be drinking Blue or Canadian...

I just find it ironic that Molson, while running their "we're better than you" ad campaign which was actually made by an american ad company, might become a little less "Canadian", at least in ownership.

I heard on the news that each company will keep its identity in its market, but even with the merger, its still at risk of being bought out by Miller or Heineken.
