Chicken Kebabs: Lemon grass and 'Indian-style'
I got these recipes from a friend after a BBQ at his house.
Lemon grass chicken kebab for 4 people : cut 2 pounds of boneless chicken in small pieces. marinate chicken for a few hours in the juice of three limes, 2 branches of lemon grass thinly sliced, 3 teaspoons of soy sauce, 3 teaspoons of olive oil, salt, pepper. Put the chicken on skewers with sliced onions, red or green peppers, tomatoes. Cook it on very hot fire. 'Indian-style' kebab : cut 2 pounds of boneless chicken in small pieces. marinate chicken for a few hours in the juice of 1 lemon, 2/3 cup plain yogurt, 1 teaspoon vinegar, 2 teaspoons tandoori spices mix, 2 teaspoons olive oil, salt, pepper. Put the chicken on skewers with sliced onions, red or green peppers, tomatoes. Cook it on very hot fire. |

Mmm, that sounds delicious. Thanks for the recipe!
Quick question; the "tandoori spices mix" you mentioned for the "indian style" kabob, does that come as-is in grocery stores, labeled as tandoori mix? indian grocery stores, perhaps? Or can you make it from other herbs? |

edit - Just wanted to add that I substituted curry powder into the recipe and it was great. Last edited by westothemax; 08-04-2004 at 01:19 PM.. |
