Healthy stuff......
I think I posted this on the old board, but here goes......
About a year and a half ago, I turned forty and freaked! I was about 30 pounds too heavy, high blood pressure ect. Anyway, I started running regularly, eating right and just being kinder to my body. This leads me to the big request, what are your favorite healthy recipes? I'll post some of mine and maybe some folks will get healthy. Thanks in advance, J My Healthy tuna Sanguich.. one can white albacore in spring water (drained) 1/4 granny smith apple (peeled and chopped) 1/4 sweet onion (chopped) 1 dill pickle (chopped) 1 boiled egg (chopped, usually with only about 1/4 or 1/2 of the yolk) 2 tbspns Kraft fat free mayo Natures Own sugar free, wheat buns. Mix it up and whale on a sanguich or two. I eat LOTS of tuna, so if you have any other ideas, whip-em out. |

Since no one else has posted anything here ya go:
Glazed turkey (or chicken) steaks: 2 tbs orange marmalade 1 tbs lemon or lime juice 2 teaspoons soy sauce 1 garlic clove, minced 1/4 tsp curry powder 4 turkey (or chicken) breast steaks (approx 5 oz each) In a small bowl stir marmalade, lemon juice, soy sauce, garlic & curry powder and brush over both sides of the steak Grill on an uncovered grill for 5 minutes then turn and brush with remaining glaze...grill another 5-10 minutes or until turkey is longer pink. (this is also good broiled) Serves 4 143 calories, 1 g of fat, 7 g of carbs, 26 g protein

another good one:
grilled tuna with rosemary 1 lb fresh tuna (or frozen if you want) steaks 2 tsp olive oil 2 tsp lemon juice 1/8 tsp salt 1/8 tsp pepper 2 garlic cloves, minced 2 tsp fresh rosemary or 2 tsp dried rosemary cut fish into 4 portions. Brush both sides with lemon juice and olive oil...sprinle with salt and pepper...rub garlic and rosemary onto fish. Grill or broil until fish flakes easily. (note: i fish is more than 1 inch thick you will need to turn it over halfway thru grilling/broiling) this recipe is also good with halibut or salmon there are only 145 calories1 g carbs and 3 total grams of fat (1 g saturated fat) and 27 g protein
