Mary Jane Brownies
OK my wife and i have never partaken of weed. But we would like to try. Nether of us smoke so brownies seem like the best thing to work with.
Anyone have a good recipe? If this is in the wrong place or not allowed , my bad no feelings hurt over a move or delete. If its a repost please let me know the thread. thanks a bunch.

Didn't try 'em myself, but if you go to Amsterdam, most coffee shops sell "space cake" which is more powerful than the brownies and supposedly better tasting.
Or, if you'd like, some places have pot milkshakes.

Well, first off, don't waste money using expensive pot. Since you guys dont' know what's what, and you might get cheated, have a friend who smokes buy the weed for you.
Buy a quarter oz of schwag, it should probably cost about 40-45 dollars. Then go through it by hand and break everything up into nice, little pieces, and crush the seeds. After that, you might want to fry the weed in the butter that you will be making the brownies with, and then mix the butter/weed into the mix and bake like normal. Eat them on an empty stomach, and give them time to kick in. If nothing happens after a half hour or so, eat a couple more

yup, just make sure it's all small, with no stems. Sautee it in butter, which helps to soften it up. Be careful when eating. Ingesting in this manner will take longer to 'kick in', so you don't want to keep eating them until you feel something, you'll want to stop before that. Here's a great brownie recipe to boot:
4 large eggs 1 cup sugar, sifted 1 cup brown sugar, sifted 8 ounces melted butter 11/4 cups cocoa, sifted 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1/2 cup flour, sifted 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Butter and flour an 8-inch square pan. In a mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, beat the eggs at medium speed until fluffy and light yellow. Add both sugars. Add remaining ingredients, and mix to combine. Pour the batter into a greased and floured 8-inch square pan and bake for 45 minutes. Check for doneness with the tried-and-true toothpick method: a toothpick inserted into the center of the pan should come out clean. by far my favorite brownie recipe

DO NOT cook the butter/ganja over direct heat. This will burn the weed making it impotent and it will taste like shit. You'll need to devise a simple double boiler for this purpose. Many pots come with a steamer tray insert. If you have one of these simply fill the pot with water above the level of the steamer tray. In another smaller pot mix the ground-up weed and the butter and set it in the larger pot. This way the butter/weed never comes into direct contact with the heat, only boiling water. You'll need to cook it like this for at least 20 minutes. Do not burn the ganja!
You don't need to make the brownies from scratch either. Just buy a boxed brownie mix and substitute your ganja/butter mix for the vegetable oil it asks for. Use slightly more unsalted butter (add a tbsp or two) than the recipe calls for, some of it will be cooked off/absorbed by the weed. Use at least 1/8 oz. of the cheap schwaggy stuff. This is probably the least economical way to experience mary jane, but it can be one of the most fun. If you've never smoked or at all been high before you won't get much out of it your first few times. I recommend buying a cheap one-hitter or bowl and trying smoking a few times first. |

crock pots work great....I also used cheesecloth to strain and squeeze out the butter... don't try to use the leaves... okay.. use them along with other herbs and make a rub... it's more of a novelty than actual THC carrier, but still. Have a roast and then some brownies for desert.
plummie says don't burn it.. it's true... low low heat... Making Bud Butter Melt one pound of butter in a pan. Mix 60-70 (or more grams of thoroughly sifted pot in it. Let it boil carefully a couple of minutes until the butter has gotten a green color from the grass. Then squeeze the butter through a fine strainer. While you use the strain, keep the leaves away in a corner of the pan by using a spoon. Squeeze hard to get out as much of the butter as possible. Cooking time varies from 10-15 mins to 8 hours at a low simmer. Experiment yourself!

I'm thinking of making some of these things this weekend and came across this recipe:
"Alright, this is THE absolute best way to make pot brownies, but it takes some time... alright, get yourself an 8th of the dankest shit you can afford (if you're using shwag get yourself a .5oz) Measure out the oil called for in the brownie mix, pour it in a glass jar, take out seeds/stems and chop the weed as finely as you can and put it in the oil) boil water on the stove and put the jar with the oil in it in the boiling water (DO NOT POUR THE OIL INTO THE WATER, put the whole jar w/ the oil in it in the boiling water) boil for 1 hour, (this releases the THC into the oil and keeps the weed from burning) after it has boiled for an hour, follow the brownie directions on the box using the oil with the weed in it (repeat, leave the weed in the oil) enjoy!" It sounds like a reasonable idea. What do you all think? And I found this while searching. How about a little science?... Quote:

That pill recipe looks pretty interesting. I'd be interested to hear if anyone's had success with it. Also the one with the oil and pot in a jar sounds interesting. Let us know how it turns out if you try it.
I've made some brownies before with great success. All we did was grind up the bud really fine, then cook it on the stove for awhile with some oil and then threw that into the brownie mix. After we ate one, we waited for 45 min and felt nothing so we each had another. A full day later I finally felt normal again. After the first foray with two brownies each we pared back the dosage and got the desired result.

We have had the best luck using the blender to grind up the herb.
Be aware it will sometimes take 3 hours to feel the full effect so if you haven't smoked before be cautious --if it is strong weed it can make you sick or cause you to pass out if you take too much.Starting slow is always a safe route. Along the lines of the pill-- a few years back they used to make oil pills with a isomizer. If you try this be prepared to be groggy for a couple of days. Enjoy--I started 35 years ago and I ain't dead yet |

Like already stated, don't over heat the butter-weed mix. You just need it to be warmed so it's melted, rather than cooking it.
Instead of brownies you can use pound cake...this will make the "space cake" that was already mentioned. It will kick in faster on an empty stomach and last longer on a full one.
