best episode ever... more simpsons chit chat
since there are so many simpsons fans here, just out of curiosity, what are your favourite episodes? myself, i'm a huge cape feare fan wherein the simpsons enter the witness protection program and bart is terrorized by sideshow bob. best episode ever with the best guest star (kelsey grammer) ever in my opinion.

My favorite is one of the early ones, the one where they find the three-eyed fish in the pond and name him "Blinky".
Harry Shearer (voice of Flanders, Skinner, Burns, and just about the entire supporting cast) said that that was his favorite too, not just for the gags, but because it was just such a completely developed piece of social commentary

i have not seen this show in years but id say one of my favorates is the one where homer gets in the secret society.
some guy "take off the stone of shame" homer, "woo hoo!" some guy, "and put on the stone of (something, i do not remember, triumph?)" homer, "DOH!" sorry for the crappy quote but it is a classic. |

The chilli cookoff is great. Another great one I saw last night was the one where Homer becomes a robot for Bart, beating up all the robots in the robot wars. When he's fighting Cheif and Ralph Wigums robot and ends up shooting it right in the face.... freakin hilarious, then the announcer says something like "well folks, that's about as close as you'll get to seeing a robot shoot a boy in the face on tv..."
Some of the more recent ones have had me laughing hard too.

The chili cookoff is good, but my favorite is "You only move twice."
Homer goes off to work for a Bond-like villian and moves to Cypress Creek. Homer comes in to ask Hank about where to buy "work hammocks." Quote:

my favorite simpsons ep has to be the one where flanders goes crazy and tell's everyone what he really thinks of them. the funniest one is when he tells bart the catch phrase he'll be using in his adult years "hey buddy, GOT A QUARTER!?"

I like the one where Homer becomes a food critic, but I have no idea what the name of it is.
Lisa-"Dad, don't eat that, its going to kill you!" Homer- "....Eh...I've had a good run." But yeah, every episode of the Simpsons is great.

The Sideshow Bob and his Brother (as voiced by David Hyde Pierce). Classic Frazier and Niles brought to the Simpsons.
The Grimes episode, especially where Grimes goes crazy..... "I'm Homer Simpson, I live in a mansion.... i can do anything because I'm a bumbling fool." or whatever then at the funeral Homer awakens a bit to say "Marge turn the channel." Classic. Flanders and Homer do Vegas. Flanders buys the Bible amusement park where people "see" visions (I think at a statue of Maude), but it's because of a gas leak. And the Valentine's Day with Ralphie taking Lisa to see the Krusty special live. Bart, as he keeps rewinding and slo-moing a tape, "hey Lisa, you can see the very second you break Ralph's heart."

I got to see my favorite episode a few nights ago.
It's where Mr. Burns builds a casino. He becomes a germophobe, Marge becomes addicted to gambling and Homer goes on a mission to find out how his picture is on the cover of a Japanese soap box. One of the funniest and best episodes ever, especially when Homer sees the Mr. Sparkle commercial. So many other great episodes, I wouldn't know where to start.

The episode: Girlie Edition
Bart and Lisa start a kid's new show. Bart has his special "Bart's People" segment. Let's not forget the best part... Mojo the Helper Monkey! episode: Lisa, the Simpson Lisa is worried that she will turn dumb like Homer and Bart because of a defective gene. I could go on, there are so many...

I, too, enjoy the chili cookoff, as well as the episode where Sideshow Bob's brother, Cecil comes to town.
BOB: "But this is wonderful! You do know I used to have a...problem with trying to kill people?" CECIL: "Goodness, I had no idea! For you see I have been on Mars for the last decade. In a cave, with my eyes shut and my fingers in my ears." BOB: "Touche, Cecil."

Or Matt Groenings office scene when he is animated with the patch over his eye and yells : GET OUT OF MAH OFFICE... LOL...brilliant! OH OH The discount mall in Ogdenville. From the episode where Marge wants the family to join the country club Homer: Look at all brand names at low low prices Bart: Dad! those are just lousy knockoffs Homer: PFfft I know a geniune Panaphonics when I see one, and look here is Magnetbox and Sorny

The one where Homer becomes a pothead.
(At the Phish Concert) Trey Anastasio - "Hey I smell marijuana smoke! If Phish doesn't see a prescription, we're outta here!" (Hans Molman hands him the prescription) "Oh my god! This man is seriously ill!" Hans Molman - "The doctors wouldn't tell me, I had to hear it from Phish" I love the one where Homer starts Springshield, the private police force, especially his commercial. (Homer, Lenny and Carl beat the crap out of a monster that broke into an old woman's home until the monster becomes friendly) Monster - "Friend?" Homer - "The only friend you need is Springshield!" (Hands Monster a business card) Monster - "Monster put in wallet" |
