Man, I can't believe this thread isn't anymore popular than it is. Maybe it shouldn't just be a "post your links thread." I've been watching this series for no more than a month now, and I gotta say, this is by far the best damn anime I've ever seen. This definitely needs to be at the top of the threads! Every episode I watch shows that this anime has tremendous potential to make it over here in America. If ANYONE BUT Funimation or 4Kids get it, (aka Bandai) and has a voicework group like the Ocean Group do the dubbing for it, it will take off in America. Just leave the damn music alone!

Have you ever read the manga? I think it's much better than the anime. It has much better pacing and cooler art (sadly). Send me a private message if you're interested in reading it and we'll arrange something (that goes for anyone else who's interested, too!). Because the anime is based on the manga, you can read ahead in the story if you're so inclined (I can undestand if you're not).

Also, as much as I like Naruto, I feel that I must mention the quality of One Piece. It is also an excellent series and I like it as much as (if not more than) Naruto, for pretty much the same reasons. You can download the anime from Kaizoku Fansubs, using bit torrent. Eventually, the manga is better for this series as well, but the first fifty episodes are still pretty good...

Sounds good. I'll check out One Piece. Is One Piece in the same "genre" as Naruto though? Fighting, ninjutsu, etc., or is it something else altogether?

omg thanks you so much for the one piece dl link!!!!! i was looking subs of the early episodes..... after watching it on fox kids i knew they cut a lot of it

a friend of mine was telling so much about it but i never listened to her now i am finally interested in it

well i like naruto its not the best anime i have seen but it is enjoyable great characters

well there was i time when i loved it and that was during the first two storylines.... the zabuza story and the chunin exam...i swear i was soooo hooked back then

but then after that the story has been a drag expect itachi's intro!!!

but finally the manga is getting good after a long drawn out plot

Naruto is definitely a good anime, but i just hate waiting for it every week. Eventually I forget about it and end up missing out on it for a few months, but then again it only takes about 1 hour to catch up on that lost month. I've only read the manga from narutofan.com since I've had horrible trouble trying to find the first episodes of Naruto and my connection is unbearably slow to dl movies.

It depends on what you mean by "genre".

One Piece is a typical shonen title, just like Naruto. So, it has plenty of action, comedy, and drama. It's a little more heavy on the comedy than Naruto but the drama is more dramatic, if you can believe that.

It's not a ninja story, however. I'll quote the opening background for you:

well my internet is down for 10 days while they upgrade my speed. FINALLY took a year for SBC to get their remote server up. faster speed here i come... I"ll definitely check out the site you gave gohan.

Naruto and One Piece are my favorite animes, tho I agree that the Naruto Manga is generally better (but it has slowed down while the eps have sped up in terms of pacing) also the games are great! I work at an anime store (Otakuden in NYC) and these two are our most popular DVDs.

Im a big fan of naruto and one piece, though i do find the strenching of storylines over vast amounts of episodes irritating, while no where near as bad a DBZ, one piece especiaily can have quite long periods of not much advancing the plot.
Theres sites out tehre with all the one piece and naruto manga's translated and they are a good read. much better than the anime imo

one piece seems a little more childish in parts, and gets more "silly" sometimes, some people like it, some people dont. Of course, both are aimed at japanese schoolkids, so dont expect any supermature themes or w/e )

I wanna get hold of some of the games, going over to japan next year, so should be all good.

I was reading somewhere, that a american company has took on one piece, but from what i saw, they have ruined some of the main characters, sanji seems to have a lolipop instead of a cigerette etc, which doesnt bode well, but this is half remembered from months back, hopefully im wrong.

anyway, i love em both, watch em when i can, i do recommend the manga's

Yeah the Manga goes into more detial and backstory than the anime.. but both are well done. One piece got picked up by *shudders* 4Kids and they ruined it. They also ruined Shaman king, and many other anime series. They are worse than funimation when it comes to dubbing and localization.

Luckily, i never watch dubs.

I am 81% done downloading ep 112.. they storyline in the anime is finally catching up to the manga i read.. and each episode gets me excited to see more..
