Me. I'm the new Bond. Yeah, the studio didn't want me to say anything. But I figure I can tell my fellow TFP'ers.
They're thinking Halle Berry(again), Britney Spears, Elisha Cuthbert, Jessica Simpson, or Jennifer Lopez for the new Bond girl. I have to have sex with all of them to see who's the best fit for the part. I know. I know. It's hard work. But I keep plugging away in the name of all the bond fans out there. Oh shit, I gotta go. Halle's at the door. And it looks like her front bumpers dented in....again. Guess I gotta go let her in. But first I have to sneak J Lo out the back. |

i think Bale would be great. Clive Owen would be another great choice...
but, although Brosnans disgracefully over-inflated ego gets up my goat, i think he should stick around for at least one more film. now, i dig Crowe, Mortenson and Jackman, but i donīt think they could pull off Bond. Jude Law and Ewen Macgregor would positively suck in the role. and Grant, well, i love you Hugh, but James Bond, you are not. so, imo, from the given list... i think Brosnan should stay, to be replaced eventually by Christian Bale. as for Bond girls, well, i guess we just have to sit and pray they donīt commit another Denise Richards style sin.

Quentin Tarantino. The name's Bond.. Jimmy Bond.. Don't get any blood in my fucking new BMW, My wife will be home in 10 minutes and if she see's a dead... It's the perfect role..
Clive owen gets my vote because I know the bond nuts would riot if tarantino got the part.

Who will be the new 007?
Well Pierce Brosnan will not be Bond in the 21st movie.
Read more here. So... who do you think will make the best Bond?

I really have no clue who it'll be. I just hope he takes the character back to the Timothy Dalton era... the gritty Bond was great.

well, as much as i despise Pierce Brosnan, i have to admit i did like him as Bond. he has/had a perfect mix of suave and action.
if i remember correctly, there was a thread about this not so long ago... i think that it listed a few possibles... Christian Bale Clive Owen Jude Law Russell Crowe Hugh Jackman to my mind, Bale and Owen are the only plausible options of that list. Law comes off as a pansy, while Crowe and Jackman are too rough and meaty. but, since Bale has become the new Batman, perhaps studios will see him as already too 'superhero-ish'... maybe... i think Owen would be a good replacement. BUT (and this is really nit-picking here), he was killed by Matt Damon in The Bourne Identity. and we can't have the next super-suave, super-Brit having been killed by an American super-spy now can we?? i'd love to hear of any other rumoured replacements.

You know that in the books, Bond was an ugly scarred up, brutal motherfucker right?
Conney played the brutal best. As for the next... I have no idea. They havent been as good since they started writing their own plots. Flemming wrote good stories... The new ones are too simplistic. |

The last good Bond was Goldeneye. It is definitely one of the best ones, in my opinion. I LOVE that movie. It has so much atmosphere. The characters are classic too, reminds me of the characters of yester-Bond. The story wasn't completely original, but at least the plot was solid and the damn action sequences weren't filled with CG *cough*Die Another Day*cough*
I get chill bumps everytime Bond busts through the wall in the tank when he is chasing Urumov and Natalia in the Euro car

Well damn. Brosnan did an awesome job with the character, second only to Connery in my opinion. Most of the movies werent very good, but Brosnan nailed the role.
I hope they pick someone good...

Too bad Jim Nabors is too old.
I read on another site that it was a stipulation of Ian Flemings' estate, or his company, that the Bond actor had to be of Welsh, Scottish, or English descent. Has anybody else heard of this? Oh yeah, before you say "Idjit, Brosnan is Irish!", I know, but from what I read, he's English on his mothers' side, and grew up there after the age of ten when he went to live with her. To clarify, though, all my info may be wrong.

Without a doubt, I think Christian Bale would have made a great Bond. While I'm happy he's the next Batman, I think he would have probably made a better Bond.
What about Jason Statham? He's certainly physically believable as Bond, probably more so than any other Bond actor other than Connery. When he's kicking a villains ass, you'd know it was kicked! I'm not sure if he could pull off as much "upper class" as we've seen with Brosnan, but I'd like to see him get a shot. He'd be different enough from the other Bonds to get a fair shake on his own, too.
