The Frugal Gourmet
(so shoot me...)

Mephisto2 09-12-2004 08:41 PM

Oh yeah, I forgot.

The Iron Chef.

Mr Mephisto

Draconis 09-14-2004 04:47 AM

Anybody else remember 3 South on MTV.

"Hey there's broken glass stuck in my feet"

"Maybe that's because you were throwing bottles at the wall earlier."

"What are you talking about? Those bottles didn't have broken glass in them."

radioguy 09-14-2004 02:28 PM

Cupid

It was a short lived, hour long show where Jeremy Pitven tried to set people up in his bar/restaurant. I think it was on 5-6 years ago.

dmt767s 09-15-2004 09:08 PM

Futurama-I have all 4 DVD volumes, watching V.4 right now, freaking great
Family Guy-I have both DVD sets, wicked awesome
SportsNight-Just great
Playmakers-Because anything ESPN does that isn't actual sports coverage is easy to make fun of
Undergrads-Comedy Central has 1AM showings once in a while, very good
In Living Color-I miss Homie the Clown

tspikes51 09-15-2004 09:13 PM

Family Guy, even though it is making a return, and Rocko's Modern Life. Even though it was on a kid's network, it had brilliantly concieved comical value for adults.

There are a few mentioned already such as Family Guy and Futurama. I second those, and can't wait for early next year for the new Family Guy eps.

VR5 is another show that cancelled after only one season - I don't know how many people watched it but I really really dug that show.

I'm not going to count anime because typically they have a predetermined life, episode wise, but I'd love to see new eps of Cowboy Bebop and/or Trigun. Of course, with Bebop they'd have to be predating the final episode, but still... That show rocks.

MageB420666 09-16-2004 12:27 PM

Family Guy
Futurama
Rocko's Modern Life
Star Trek Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager
The Muppet Show

I dunno. Spike has come back from some pretty serious injuries. We've seen him 'die' pretty often actually.
-Balad of Fallen Angels: shot and thrown out the window
-Toys in the Attic: bitten by strange creature
-Pupiter Jazz part 1: Shot
-Peroot Le Fou: blown up by a missile or some other sort of explosive device
-The Real Folk Blues part 2: beaten, stabbed with thrown knife, cut in the leg with a katanaa, and what looks like a severe katana strike to the cheest or stomach
-Knockin on Heavens Door (Cowbebop Movie): compound broken sternum, shot through the chest, thrown from a tram or monorail from pretty high up, beaten badly, and exposed to a nanotech virus

This dude won't die!
They could bring him back no problem and explore some of Spike's past.

Asuka{eve} 09-20-2004 08:26 PM

Cancelled tv show? For me its Firefly made by the guy who also did Buffy. Yep Joss Whedon. Its very good. SO much better than andromeda and farscape.

Seer666 09-24-2004 09:57 PM

The Tick. Both
Probe. Really old Scifi, only last like 3 or 4 shows. But SO well done. Asimov(sp?) help write it, I believe.
Cupid. got hooked, went ot bootcamp, gout out of boot camp, and it was gone.
The New Fantisy Island. WONDERFULY done. Same situation ad Cupid.
The Flash
Gargoyles
James Burke's Connections. If you haven't seen it, you missed one of the best history/science shows ever made.
Zim. No more need be said.
The Godzilla cartoon. The onld one from the early 80's. Used to get up every saterday morning to watch that.
Transformers. Prime was the MAN.
Feakazoid. Fucking funny as hell.
Animaniacs

I'm sure I think of more later, but that is all I can pull off the top of my head

Zar 09-26-2004 01:52 AM

Brisco County Jr., sigh. Bruce Campbell is a god.

auntflo5 09-26-2004 05:18 PM

tv funhouse.
why did it go away???? funny stuff... any show that has plastic dogs humping real animals tops my book, and gives me the hope for a brighter future for the children.

Seething 09-26-2004 06:14 PM

It seems kinda redundant, but I'll mention Futurama again. The one show I haven't seen anyone mention is John Doe. I loved that show, even if I'm the only one. Goddamn you, Fox!

2sheds 09-26-2004 07:30 PM

greg the bunny

i have all but the first episode tivo'd and would kill for a quality recording of that first episode.

Um, say WHAT? I missed that one. Loved the show, but... um.. Fruggy? Really?

Irishsean 09-29-2004 08:54 AM

Family Guy
Futurama

2 shows I liked when I was a kid that got cancelled:

High Mountain Rangers
Dolphin Cove

Church 09-29-2004 09:39 AM

Would anyone think any less of me if I said Dark Angel? lol. What can I say, she was hot. :)

Himbo 09-29-2004 02:04 PM

Men Behaving Badly. It rocked.

fhqwhgads 09-29-2004 02:28 PM

I was a huge fan of Murder in Small Town X. I thought the concept was great, I thought that the acting by the "townspeople" was excellent, and I thought they pulled off the concept really well. I was disappointed to see that there was not going to be a second season.

Jared Jones 10-10-2004 03:39 PM

The most sadly missed one for me is Clone High, Ghandi and JFK are fuckin great.... they need to make another season.

sendnot 10-10-2004 07:07 PM

Twin Peaks for suuure... The 'Bob' character barely got a chance to evolve. The possibilities for that show were mind-bending. Firefly too. Killed in it's infancy like Twin Peaks... Proof that that lowest common denominator decides what we see on TV. Kind of a sad commentary on the human condition, really.

1slOwCD8 10-10-2004 07:37 PM

i really miss Off Centre even though its been gone for like 3 yrs. Hopefully there will be a dvd.

bitrunner 10-10-2004 08:03 PM

I'm sure it's been said many times, but Firefly..

Chemical Smoo 10-10-2004 08:48 PM

I always enjoyed the "Get a Life" show.

Futurama
Family Guy

former newt 10-11-2004 07:07 PM

Family Guy
Farscape (though they will be ending it with a miniseries)
Angel

alansmithee 10-11-2004 08:34 PM

I liked Get a Life, not many remember it, it was the weirdest thing I've seen on broadcast TV. Also, Upright Citizen's Brigade was awesome.

Itachi 10-11-2004 08:49 PM

I to miss Farscape. Hopefully they might start the series again if they get good ratings. But I doubt it

sgn43 10-12-2004 02:02 AM

I would definitely have to say Family Guy, though I guess it doesn't really count since it's making a comeback. And I really enjoyed Playmakers on ESPN, and was really disappointed when they dropped it because of pressure from the NFL.

thefictionweliv 10-12-2004 02:18 AM

Family Guy, Dark Angel, Futurama, Sienfeld, Early Edition, Pretender

thefictionweliv 10-12-2004 02:23 AM

Hercules and Xena as well o.0

toilet_duck 10-12-2004 11:17 AM

Holy shit, what a cool thread. My list is as follows:

The Ren & Stimpy Show
Aeon Flux
Transformers
Seinfeld
Star Trek: The Next Genereration

Horrendous 10-12-2004 11:44 AM

can i add another?
space: above and beyond
i think that's what it was called. i enjoyed it =P
yeah... i was all about dark angel, too

bwhite897 10-12-2004 05:51 PM

My So-Called Life
Freaks & Geeks (who have an incredible limited edition DVD box set)

It kinda pisses me off that ABC has a new show on called 'Life As We Know It' which is basically another My So-Called Life. They should've just kept the show on!!

tropple 10-13-2004 03:09 AM

Rat Patrol
Girl From UNCLE

Dark Assailant 10-13-2004 03:52 AM

two words : DARK ANGEL

philanderer 10-13-2004 12:15 PM

I dont know if this was said, but BOOMTOWN which was on nbc was a great show. It was the best drama, by far, when it aired two seasons ago.
If I was to rank my top five most missed shows it would be
Family Guy (just so good)
Boomtown
Sports Night
Andy Richter
the pretender

shadowalker 10-13-2004 12:48 PM

Alf.
Kindred The Embraced.
Darkshadows.
Robotech.
Boomtown.
Dark Angel.
Roswell.

all i can think of.

Glorp 10-13-2004 12:54 PM

Get a Life was phenomenal. Did anyone see a show in the mid-eighties that ran for, like, two and a half episodes, called "Sledge Hammer!"? It had David Rasche as the title character. That, for me, when I was ten, was, like, the greatest show ever, and they cancelled it before it even had a chance to live! Why? Why?!?

rhapz 10-13-2004 02:03 PM

Have to agree with everyone above on

FUTURAMA and FAMILY GUY

Locke00000 10-13-2004 05:02 PM

Futurama, Family Guy, Dilbert, 7 Days, The Lone Gunmen, Dinosaurs (good memories), Back to the Future Cartoon, The Critic, Undressed (I doubt any network would air this anymore after the Janet crap), ...half the shows that were on TGIF in the late 90s...(does ABC even do TGIF anymore)

I had heard that as well. He wasn't enough of a star to make much national attention, but his show was pretty much over.

I had forgotten the Tick, the cartoon was awesome. I also liked Liquid Television and Bevis and Butthead, back when MTV had decent shows.

Mr_Wall 10-14-2004 02:37 AM

I'd say The Maxx. Aeon flux. The head and Quads

yoyoyobro 10-16-2004 03:04 PM

Family Guy- Got it back
and Undeclared- still waiting

alpha666 10-16-2004 11:02 PM

Mr. Skillman 10-17-2004 06:31 AM

Futurama.....

fordluvr 10-17-2004 10:33 AM

Yep. Futurama was tha shiznit. When I finished the last set of DVDs, there was weeping and gnashing of teeth. I'd love to see some groudswell of support for a return a la Family Guy, but I'm not holding my breath. *sigh* :|

Grace, Too 10-22-2004 06:22 AM

the WONDER YEARS. I loved that show. I didn't check the previous 10 pages, but did anyone say that? Kudos if you did, butthead.

Beatlefan58 10-22-2004 08:28 PM

I maybe should read the nine pages before this (but I won't) before mentioning two that were cancelled last season: THE HANDLER and KAREN SISCO. I don't watch that much network TV but caught up with those two early, and set my VCR to get them each week. Neither made it to February.

A couple from the past that bugged me at the time (and must still do a bit, since I remember them a couple of decades later): SLEDGE HAMMER and POLICE SQUAD.

IckUber 10-22-2004 10:53 PM

Im sure i dont have to post this, but like the person above me said, im not going to read 9 pages :) Anyways, Family Guy is heading back to fox for new episodes, and like i said, im sure this was said, and im sure you all know it anyways.

lamellama 10-23-2004 12:32 AM

Not sure if anyone said it or not, Hermans Head!!! I hope Im not the only person who remembers that show. I LOVED it and I think it only made one season :(

AntoineMartinez 10-23-2004 07:24 PM

Invader Zim! It was the best show (Gir is the best) and they should bring it back.

Stompy 10-23-2004 09:08 PM

The Andy Dick show was fucking HILARIOUS.

TV Funhouse on Comedy Central... most amazing tv show EVER. They had this "George Washington: True Hollywood Story" (of sorts) about how GW was all coked out and on opium "and one day, leapt up with a ninja sidekick and landed it right in (Martha's?) face". The baby, the immigrant, and the guy on mushrooms, hahaha.. fun stuff.

Let's see... jackass. Did that even get cancelled? That was a great show. I think they just split off to do their own stuff (wildboyz, viva la bam), but I did enjoy the jackass crew together.

SIFL AND OLLY. Puppet show on MTV 6 years ago. THAT was some great twisted humor.

Other than that... can't really think of any.

[edit]
Yeah, I already replied to this much earlier with the same stuff, haha. Ah well, completely forgot I posted in this one :)
