Futurama/Family Guy (seems to be a trend here) and Deadline, with Oliver Platt. I doubt anyone remembers it. It was on NBC about 2-3 years ago.
|
Family Guy
Saved By The Bell Seinfeld |
Quantum Leap.
Fall Guy. Magnum PI. Simon and Simon. |
How could somebody not say family guy :)
Yeah. Family Guy. Can't think of anything else :P Seinfeld too I guess. |
I must be OLD.
|
duckman was good
|
Definitely Freaks & Geeks. And Buffy, although technically it wasn't cancelled, Sarah Michelle Gellar just decided she didn't want to do it anymore (well, apparently Joss Whedon was thinking the same thing, but I'd much rather blame SMG than Joss).
hehehe...and whoa, flashback on Welcome Freshman...I used to love that show. What was the game show on MTV where there were three contestants that sat in these weird space age looking chairs, and had to answer music trivia? You could also play along online...that was a fun show. |
The Brak Show
|
The US version of Coupling was great...to bad the powers that be didn't give it a chance. B.t.w. the UK version of Coupling is/was even better.
|
|
Undeclared
Tales from the Crypt The Dana Carvey Show The Ben Stiller Show |
Family Guy but it is coming back..and Sifl and Olly show :D
|
Family Guy
Seinfeld Futurama X-Files (Why couldnt they all be like season 1-2??) I hear family guy is coming back, but until it does, its still my number one |
Family Guy, without a doubt

Definitely Freaks and Geeks, but I worked on the show, so I suppose I'm biased.
Here's a link to the DVD release info: http://www.freaksandgeeks.com/dvd/index.html |
lookwell was another best that never was(an adam west detective show written by conan o'brian and robert smigel).
critics on dvd tomorrow! |
Upright Citizens Brigade. Anyone else a UCB fan?
|
One show that I regret recording on VHS when it was on was the show Viper. It was shot here locally (BC) and I actually saw both the Viper and Defender driving on the street. Very cool. Hated that it is now gone and I don't have a single episode. Don't understand why there isn't a dvd set on it too.
|
The Tick (cartoon, not live action)
Automan (shows my age) (hey, I was a kid. To a kid the show rocked) News Radio St. Elsewhere Alien Nation |

Saved By The Bell X-Files (with Mulder)- that's why it cancelled, sorry but T1000 didn't woo me like Fox. -Gilligan's Island- best fuckin old show ever -The Monkees- the other best fuckin old show ever (yes, I even have 3 of their tv show videos and I still occassionally watch them- and I have just about all of their cassettes.) |
Family Guy, Clerks Animated, and Undeclared I'd have to say.
|
The Tom Green Show and The New Tom Green Show
Beavis and Butthead Clerks animated was also cool, thanks bigbad |
Married with Children above ALL!
Titus Alf - j/k Quantum Leap |
FUTURAMA AND FAMILY GUY!!! Although they are on cartoon networks adult swim. I love it/

Unhappily Ever After
The show itself wasn't that great, but Nikki Cox was fuckin hot. |
another vote for family guy and the critic, the lone gunmen was pretty good as well
EDIT: Holy crap, how could i forget MST3K |
Obviously family guy and futurama are a given, but also freaks and geeks and sienfeld come to mind.
|
FYI - for the non-cartoon shows, I think the TRIO network is showing some btter cancelled shows.
Speaking of which, "Once and Again", the sci-fi one with the guy who dies, then gets an android body. Real good one. |
Futurama
Quantum Leap Sliders Futurama is at the top of my list - love the DVDs! |
Guess I can add Angel to the list now...bleah. And how did I forget Quantum Leap??
And upping my dorkiness factor, but I kinda miss Perfect Strangers, too. |
Dark Angel,
Family Guy, Titus. Damn you Fox!!! After all this, why do I keep watching you? |
Married With Children
SOAP (Crime is dirty vote for Burty) That was one of the funniest shows ever Cheers/Fraizer gonna miss the old gang with Fraizer going |
The Tick (animated version, the live one just didn't come close)
duckman, beavis and butthead, and what they did to ren and stimpy by firing john k. was just plain wrong.... wait a minute, why is that these are all cartoons?huh, maybe people do suck after all. oh no, wait! sanford and son. whew. man, they could have rolled redd foxx's dead body out and it would still be funnier than every thing else that's been on tv since... put together. |
Family Guy
Sliders Alien Nation Man, I am a dork. Bauer |
I gor one, maybe no-one remembers it: It was called Greed, and it was about this real sick guy who cheated & lied all the time to get ahead at his company.
Anyone? |
Man, i loved war of the worlds.
did anyone ever see Profit? It predated American Psycho by about ten years |
Opposite Sex
|
saved by the bell
The State You Cant Do That On Television Parker Lewis Cant Loose Mr Show Oz Quantum Leap The Maxx Ren & Stimpy |
Grosse Pointe and Family Guy mmm maybe Keen Eddie too
|
The Wonder Years. :D
Oh, and ST: TNG. (I know it had its finish and its time was up, but as far as I'm concerned, that was, and still is, the best ST series.) |

without a doubt: FUTURAMA
gotta relive the hilarious moments thru the dvd now.. |
Family Guy, Futurama, and Rockos Modern Life.
They really need more cartoons that are more mature like these... mature in a sense that you wouldn't want your kids watching them (altohugh RML wasn't tooo bad, it still had some things that you wouldn't think appropriate for it being an old nickelodeon show) |
Millennium.
It was a great show. Lance Henrikssen was awesome. |
"IN LIVING COLOR"
What cracked me up the most was the saying "Homey dont play that" It was so halirous. Do anyone remember this TV show? |

I hate these threads. As I read people's posts I find myself getting more and more pissed off as I remember each show I loved and how they got axed early.
I don't know if this show was mentioned: Any Bruce Campbell fans remember "Jack of All Trades"? |
dang, I really thought no one would mention Parker Lewis Can't Lose; definately a great show!
Along with that... Get A Life Out of This World Small Wonder In Living Color (I NEED THIS ON DVD!) Saved by the Bell (childhood vice) Full House Salute Your Shorts Hey Dude (showing how young I am) Out All Night (Patti Labelle, Moriss Chestnut, Vivica A. Fox; GREAT show!) Martin The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Married With Children Unhappily Ever After Living Single The Wayans Brothers Thea DOOGIE HOWSER, M.D.!!! I didn't notice anyone else mention DOOGIE! Webster Alf! Who's The Boss The Cosby Show Kids Incorporated Roundhouse MMC (don't hate! lmao) Charles In Charge Family Matters Growing Pains Wanda At Large (no fair it got cancelled!) Buffy The Vampire Slayer For Your Love Amen Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher BLOSSOM!!!! ("WHOA!") Home Improvement Boy Meets World Brotherly Love USA High City Guys The Steve Harvey Show Hang Time Diff'rent Strokes A DIFFERENT WORLD DINOSAURS Hangin' With Mr. Cooper In The House The Jamie Foxx Show Lois And Clark: The Adventures of Superman My Brother And Me GHOSTWRITER! But yeah those are my favorite cancelled shows! Dang that brings back so many memories; I wish they all could be brought back in syndication or on DVD. |
The most painful of all cancellations, John Doe. The season finale left us with a cliffhanger and no resolution in sight. Fox, what should I have expected?
|
Undeclared
Andy Richter wonder years The Tick Titus anything that people like and watch is pretty well doomed, if no one watched hell it'd the top rated show of the season somehow |
Spin City - always made me laugh.
|
Buffy :(
|
OZ
Battlestar Galactica STNG Lost in Space Yes I'm a geek:D |

Illusterban named some good ones. Here are a few of mine ::
Dharma and Greg Home Improvement In Living Colour MacGyver My So-Called Life Once and Again Quantum Leap Spin City The last episode of Spin City was heart-breaking to watch. The song, I Try, by Macy Gray, playing in the background didn't help :( |
Upright Citizens Brigade

This is easy. I like Family Guy, and Futurama. But my all-time favorite cancelled show is Sportsnight. I have the entire series on DVD. It won three Emmy's before it was cancelled. I have always set it had the absolute best writing of any show I've watched. It also had a great cast, Robert Gillaume (Benson!), Felicity Huffman who's on that Showtime series now, and the guy from Six Feet Under whose name escapes me just at the moment. Also William H. Macy was on the cast for a while. Amazing show.
"Anyone want to participate in the sport of kings?" "We're gonna race horses?" "No we're going to play poker." "Poker's not the sport of kings." "What is?" "Racing horses." "Then what's poker the sport of?" "It's the sport of people who play poker." And "You should know that just because I'm looking at you while you're speaking, it doesn't necesarily mean that I'm actually listening to or caring about what you have to say. It's just something I do to be polite." |
UC Undercover
Had some interesting camera work. I was really bummed to see it go... |
I still miss the Critic. Genuinely amusing show that never got a fair shake on either network it was on.
|
Homefront
The Job |
Actually cancelled or... those that stopped when I wanted more?
Oz (Wasn't cancelled, went out on top) Seinfeld (Wasn't cancelled, went out on top) TV Funhouse (cancelled?) The Andy Dick Show (cancelled) Sifl & Olly (cancelled) The Critic (cancelled) Family Guy (?? was cancelled, came back... cancelled again?) |
I have three just from MTV cartoons
Undergrads Downtown Daria (not sure if it actually got canceled, but it was awesome) |
Quote:
Kind of off topic, but I will list shows that I love that are on now and will no doubt get cancelled before their time: Angel Wonderfalls Tru Calling There are probably more, but I'm being optimistic :) |
Obviously the forementioned
Family Guy (although there is hope, they are making new episodes) Futurama (also making new ones) I can't believe no one has said these three?!?!?! TWO GUYS, A GIRL AND A PIZZA PLACE!!!!! THE DREW CAREY SHOW!!!!! BOSTEN PUBLIC! Damn you ABC and Fox! |
News Radio
|
Wonderfalls has been cancelled. I've been pretty bummed out about that one. Fox never even gave it a fighting chance.
|
Gunsmoke
Father knows Best Your Hit Parade |
fastlane (It died because it was put on Friday, before it got popular to be in a friday night timeslot in the summer) (McG is a genius.)
family guy ally mcbeal martin undressed in living colour |
I didn't watch television for about ten years due to extreme computer geekdom, but I came back into the fold just in time to get hooked on Firefly before it got cancelled.
Looking very much forward to the movie. |
Wonderfalls
Firefly and any non-simpsons fox cartoon |
Upright Citizens' Brigade
Twin Peaks That's really all that comes to mind right now. |
The State
The Maxx Liquid Television The Flash The Tick |
farscape
|
Aqua Teen hunger Force
Family guy (duh) Beavis and Butthead Daria Married with children The Man Show, ok this one doesnt really count but to me the show was over after Adam and Jimmy left. The original Teenage mutant ninja turtle cartoons The spiderman cartoon they showed on fox about 5 years ago and others i cant think of |
Futurama
Family Guy John Doe Sea Quest Star Trek TNG Star Trek DS9 Star Trek Voyager |
I think all of mine have been posted already. But here are some:
Wonder Years(they finished it after it wasn't picked up for another year.) My So Called Life Aqua Teen Hunger Force Family Guy Married with Children The Tick Ren & Stimpy (although the few that were shown on Spike TV, just didn't make sense for it being the first network for men. Too many I'm the pitcher you're the catcher overtones.) |
Family Guy
Futurama Freaks and Geeks Andy Richter controls the universe God, the people in charge of Fox are assholes |
Fuckin Fox never gave Married With Children the proper ending, yes it was time for the show to go but they needed a proper ending.
Wings was hilarious and deserved another year or 2 or at least a cheesy reunion show. Third Rock From the Sun was ingenious and original and had one of the best casts ever. And Finally quite possibly my favorite '80's show NIGHT COURT...... this is definately a show that noone respected but was hilarious as Hell and had an awesome cast. It had a great run even if the idiots at NBC and the viewers didn't realize it. Hell Thursday nights in the 80's on NBC were fan-fucking-tastic, (Cosby, Family Ties, Cheers, Night Court/Wings, Hill Street Blues/LA Law), we may never see a blockbuster night like that again on TV. |
Firefly
Touching Evil |
Just for the record, Aqua Teen Hunger Force isn't cancelled to the best of my knowledge. I'm thinking the "Tune in for the last episode of ATHF this Sunday. Then do it again every Sunday." and "ATHF is so TOTALY canceled" ad campaigns sparked this...
My votes definately go to Farscape and Firefly. They both deserved to respectively finish up and tell the whole story more than any show I can think of, and both were screwed over by their networks in dirty and underhanded ways. |
Gotta go with Freaks and Geeks - -been watching the DVDs this weekend, what an awesome soundtrack
And Sports Night, though the laugh track from season one drives me nuts- I don't remember that from the series but there it is plain as day on the DVDs |
I would have to put my vote in for Futurama
|
The Guardian
Once and Again |
I'm really sad to see that someone enjoyed fastlane. Oh well, to each they're own. Family Guy is returning with new episodes, and if Futurama sees similar DVD sales, it has a chance as well. I thought Babylon 5 kinda ruined itself during season 5. I miss Zathros! I also miss: Airwolf, Automan (sidekick was Curser, got the points), The Adventures of Briscow County Jr. (the cowboy Bruce Cambell series), Beyond 2000 (the original series, not the new one), Deep Space Nine, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman (just kidding), Green Hornet, The Mantis, Mork and Mindy, NOW AND AGAIN (probably my favorite), the Pretender, and Wild On! with Brooke Burke.
Oh, before I forget, thank you Confederate for the hytpnotoad. Now I can't stop reading your post. |
Here goes,
Family Guy
Mystery Science Theater 3000 Freaks and Geeks Quantum Leap |
The only two shows I'm really sad about that ever got cancelled were the Critic and
Dilbert, (Maybe Duckman). Just freakin awesome cartoons that never had a chance in a world of freakin bad cartoons. |
Dude, Family Guy is COMING BACK. It's not cancelled anymore. Therefore, it is no longer cancelled. Therefore, you don't need to put it on the list.
|
firefly (they're supposedly makin' a movie, serendity, eh?)
and that old tv show about vampires, kindred the embraced, or something like that |
The Angry Beavers.
|
Farscape.
Unlike anything else on TV. I couldn't believe they cancelled it without finishing the story. Can't wait for the mini-series next month, hopefully it will provide some closure. |
One word.
Futurama. Well, actually two. I never liked Family Guy and am happy it's gone. :-) Mr Mephisto |
The Tick
Earthworm Jim Family Guy (Mmmmm redundancy) Futurama Freakazoid Animaniacs And of course, my all time favourite show Transformers (The original not the new anime bullshit) |
Get Real (it was on for one season and Im sure no one else even watched it, hence the cancellation)
Once and Again Other than that, I'm good with everything else. |
