Well, in today's trailer, the tease us by saying two heroes will go. My money is on Nathan and Nikki/Jessica.
But let's get down to the point. This second season blows. Everything that they've teased us with at the end of last season has been a bust. The 'boogeyman' that had little Molly scared shitless? Some fat slob who looks like he could be outhustled playing three-card-monte. The mystery over what happened to Sylar? A complete waste as he spent his time gouging his eyeballs out over the drama between Maya and Alejandero. Spoiler: To be honest, I don't blame him for gutting Alejandero like a fish. I just wish he'd done it sooner. Claire? Well, she was much more interesting when she was getting chased around by Sylar than she was being chased after by the lovestruck flying teen. I could go on an on, but at this point, you probably feel my disappointment. This season was about as aimless as a blind sniper. I suppose we should thank the writers' strike for putting us out of this misery sooner than scheduled.

The last 10 seconds were totally worth everything else.
In this corner, the Adapter of Power, the Sultan of Slick Hair... Peeeeter Petrellii!!! And in this corner, the Cantonese Chrononaut, Hiro Nakamura!! I want this to be a clean fight, powers vs. possibly mystical sword and time travel, no energy blasts below the belt. |

Damn, that was nice.
Thank God Sylar took out Alejandro- I was so tired of his whining. I think Claire has reached the top of her character arc. She won't be as interesting as before until she finds out her dad (Bennett) is still alive. Nikki is interesting, Micah is interesting, but the muscle-memory girl is pretty pointless. I can't imagine what kind of gang-banger sub-plot we're going to be subjected to for her rescue. Damn those last 10 seconds. Damn them. |

Bingo!....... I've read articles that say they had to re-edit the 11th episode in order to serve as a season finale. So I'm sure they've had to retool the story line a bit... I believe what was suppose to happen is that this episode was a cliffhanger until the second half of the season started up again in january or whenever... but now... damn you writers guild... damn you.... As far as some comments on the second season sucking arse... well Tim Kring himself has basicly admitted this himself. In an article in Entertainment Weekly I believe he states that they made mistakes... The story started off way to slow. He says he acknowlegeds that Hiro spent way to much time in ancient japan... the love thing with the japeneese chick and claires boy toy were an odd fit.... and that they found out the right and wrong way to introduce new characters... example... the right way--->Elle...... the wrong way---> the wonder twins... So I forgive Tim for the mistakes and hope that these are just growing pains as the show evolves. Now my thoughts on the current state of the show... Is anybody else pissed at the dirty promotion/ teaser whores who give us the "Next time on Hereos" sneek peek?? They are liers.... In the teaser for the episode titled "four months ago" they said..." you've got questions... what happened to the bomb? peter? DL? ect....They will be anserwed!" They specifically said "what happened to...Syler!" and guess what.. he was never mentioned in that episode! arg.... everthing else was answered except this... okay onto point number two... in last weeks sneek peek (2 weeks ago) it showed hiro coming up behind peter with his sword to peters neck and peter going... "Hiro!"... Now after watching last weeks episode it looks like this would have been used at the end... expect that never happend... hiro did the whole time stop thing and peter... well you know... so they must have shot that scene and edited it out... but why show it on the teaser!!! not cool. Anyway, time to concentrait on our last episode for what seems to be a very long time...I'm jacked... i'm looking fowared to seeing hiro and peter clash and adam's interaction with it all. And the biggie... sylers rise?!?! That will be good... but will he have ALL his previous powers? or just the wonder twin power for now?? As far as the promo stating that two hereos will fall.... I'm not sure.. I've stated that the devil whores are exceptionally good at this trickery, so I'm cautious. If I had to guess... I'd count the other twin and maybe the muscle memory girl... I just can't see thim killing off one of the big guns quite yet... but ehh.. i've been wrong before. so until then......

Something tells me this big Hiro vs. Peter battle is going to be a huge disappointment.
So who's taking bets on which two characters are going to be pushing up daisies? EDIT #1 Spoiler: I nearly fell out of my seat laughing when Sylar killed Maya EDIT#2 Spoiler: I'm batting one for two EDIT#3 Spoiler: Hiro, you crazy bastard! EDIT#4 Spoiler: I FUCKING CALLED IT!!!!!!!

Seems like a waste, like that 85-86 season of Dallas.

----BUMP----.
... Whoosh..(blows dust off of thread) My god, this tread is becoming a bit stagnet! Time to fire it up for the much anticipated third season! So I want to know what people's opinion/ or hopes are for the new season. We've got a little under a month till the first episode but there is already plenty of trailers and teasers spread around the web and tv. So from what I've gathered, it looks like season three is going to be a kick ass ride with alot more "heroes" or "villians".... The basic story line that i've got from the trailers looks like the "company" is keeping all sorts of strange and interesting people locked up in level 5.. the kind of people that would really cause a problem if they were to get out... But lucky for us they do and so this sets up quite a story as to who we're going to see and what power, or powers they will have. I'm also interested in some more back story with Hiro and Peter's parents. I think there is alot to be explored there. Well if anybody has any other insider info, please don't be shy...

Too much time has passed. I also feel like the producers have wandered a bit off the original story line (just a feeling). I hope they tighten things up.

I bought the first season of this show on DVD to watch and I have to say that I am disappointed. Hiro's storyline is downright boring. Peter and Nathan Petrelli (moreso Peter than Nathan) carry the show. Claire's plotline is interesting and I'm glad her dad turned to the "good" side at the end of season 1. Sylar is one of the worst actors I've seen on a TV show, partly because they give him shitty dialogue and part because I just don't think he can act.
Does the show get any better after season 1? Is it worth watching season 2? EDIT: I do like the plot of the show but that is about it. It just doesn't hold up to shows like Lost who have good acting, good writing, and a good plot. |

Season 2 was NOT worth watching. The Alejandro and Maya subplot was completely ridiculous, the first half of the season plodded along aimlessly, and there's been no new character development since they last left. You're not going to be missing much by skipping Season 2. Hopefully the third season will be a definite improvement.

First episode critique:
Spoiler: Mohinder's serum = Promecin from The 4400 Mohinder turning into the fly = Jeff Goldblum turning into The Fly Linderman as Peter's imaginary friend = Head Six as Baltar's imaginary lover Sylar strutting down Claire's street = John Travolta strutting down Brooklyn street in 'Saturday Night Fever' Who shot Petrelli? = Who shot J.R.? Future Peter trying to change the past and fucking up the present = Butterfly Effect (the movie) Present day Peter in criminal's body = Face/Off (speaking of which, if present day Peter is in fatso's body, how is future Peter still existing, doesn't this fuck everything up, and how can somebody be so stupid as to not consider the butterfly effect when you start dicking around in the past? I'm hoping Hiro doesn't waste the entire season on another useless side quest, and they'd better come up with a credible explanation why Nikki Sanders is now icewoman with no memories of her past, and holy fuck, is everybody with an ability raised as an adopted child or something? And how did Ando get The Force to get all Emperor Palpatine on Hiro like that

I'm assuming Ando gets injected by the stuff Mohinder made maybe because he's tired of being a boring sidekick with no powers...? Apparently the present Peter Petrelli doesn't know how to use his powers? When Noah was going over the level 5 villians' powers, the guy that Peter is trapped in has his power listed as "Sound manipulation". Why did he wuss out at the gas station? I'm going to wager that future peter tries to use molly walker to find present peter and parkman, but fucks it up somehow. I was disappointed that season 3 future hiro isn't the same badass he was in season 1. I guess there are an infinite number of future hiros, so badass future hiro might make an appearance. Hopefully to knock some sense into future peter, but hopefully NOT to undo everything in this season and make it out to be a "season 3 was just an alternate reality, everything is back to normal now" kind of finale. I think the writers have more sense than that, but you never know. The "Sylar, I AM your mother" part made me kind of cringe... I hope this isn't Heroes jumping the shark. Did anyone see the preview clip where Angela petrelli "feeds" Sylar a woman with the power to see the history of any thing she touches? Crazy. |

One thing confuses me. Spoiler: Bennett gets Claire's biological mother to stick around and keep an eye on Claire while he hunts down the anti-Fantastic Four. Isn't Bennett's attempt to capture/kill her the whole reason she spent 16+ years without her daughter? I dunno about you, but if I were in her shoes and he came by and asked a favor for him (never mind we have no idea how he found out she's still alive or how he located her), I would've spit in his face before barbecuing him.

I seem to be in the minority as being one of the people that absolutely enjoyed the hell out of the opener.
Spoiler: I don't think Angela really is Sylars mom. Sylar is, well, fucked up in the head with massive mother issues. She is playing on that. And what better way to keep a monster like him in check then to put him on the pay role. Feed him another baddy every now and then, and he stays happy, and you no longer have to worry about another break out on level 5. Everyone is happy in the end. It's a pretty brilliant manipulation I think. I just want to know what is up with the Linderghost now. Is Nathen losing his mind, or is Someone playing him? Parkmans dad maybe?

As for Ma Patrelli, I don't think she was being literal (and if she was, I may swear off the show) with what she said to Sylar. Plus, does anyone get the feeling that Noah is about to get a partner in his quest to track down the Level 5 escapee's? Maybe a partner with lots of powers and a fixation on taking the tops of peoples heads off?

The sprint product placement didn't bother me too much. It was subtle enough and the fact that someone in the middle of the desert in africa is complaining about their phone service gave it enough humor that I could have seen the joke being made even if it wasn't payed for.
As for the show.. I guess they wanted to fix their fuckups from last season's writers strike. I mean they changed crucial plot elements from last season.. like Maya's death.. wtf.. I dunno.. I was just bored by the end of the episode(s).
